Metroid Fan Posts Artsy Samus Action Figure Photo Every Week Till Prime 4

A Metroid fan is posting an artsy Samus action figure photo every week until Metroid Prime 4 is released. The fourth entry in the popular Metroid subseries was initially announced back in 2017 during Nintendo’s presentation at E3 but Metroid Prime 4 has had a troubled development ever since. Bandai Namco Entertainment was reportedly initially in charge of making the game but in 2019, two years after it was first teased, Nintendo decided to restart Metroid Prime 4's development and handed over the responsibility back to Retro Studios, who worked on the series’ first three titles.

Despite having to possibly wait even longer for the release of Metroid Prime 4, fans of the series may have one more thing to look forward to as a rumor about a Metroid Prime trilogy remaster being in the works has recently circulated. According to the rumor, the remastered compilation of the first three Metroid Prime games may actually be complete, but is being held off by Nintendo due to the limitations caused by the ongoing pandemic. It’s also rumored that the trilogy was planned to release alongside Metroid Prime 4.

Reddit user EnjoyablePerson began sharing creative photos of their Samus figma action figure on the Metroid subreddit back in September 2020, and the user doesn't intend to stop until Metroid Prime 4 is released. They’ve posted a new photo every week since then and the project is now 49 weeks in. Their latest photo features Samus sitting on what looks like a balcony looking out at the surrounding neighborhood. Some of their other photos include Samus supposedly fighting against a Gigantamax Pikachu, Samus riding a Tech Deck skateboard, and Samus playing Metroid Prime 1, among many others.

EnjoyablePerson was recently asked in the comments of one of his photos about why they haven’t changed the goal of their project to end when Metroid Dread comes out instead of Metroid Prime 4, since the former releases much sooner than the latter. In response, EnjoyablePerson simply said that since they’ve already gotten this far, they might as well see the entire thing through.

With no release date in sight for Metroid Prime 4, EnjoyablePerson certainly has a lot more photos to take and share. Fortunately, they’ve chosen to only share one photo per week, which is definitely much more manageable compared to similar projects that follow a daily schedule. Efforts like EnjoyablePerson’s just shows how passionate fans can be about their favorite video game franchises and gives other fans something they can enjoy together while waiting for highly-anticipated titles such as Metroid Prime 4.
