She-Ra: 10 Best Quotes From The Series | ScreenRant

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power may be a remake of the popular animated series from the '80s, but in many ways, it has surpassed the original. The Netflix series is no longer on the air, but it made a big impact with its focus on diverse representation and a story that appealed to fans of all ages. Fans of series like Avatar: The Last Airbender saw similarities, and so She-Ra quickly grew a devoted following.

While the series might have ended, it’s still being talked about because of its positive LGBT+ representation including a queer main character. But, there are many other themes that resonated with fans including friendship and self-care. Here are some of the best quotes from the series that encapsulate the five seasons.

10 “I’m Like The Only One Who's Not A Princess.”

While the series might mainly focus on female characters, Bow is the notable exception. He’s Glimmer, and then Adora’s, best friend, and he’s compassionate and funny. His skills with the bow and arrow are essential to the team, and he provides calm and grounding to the trio. This quote is great because it shows his humorous side, but, while he might not be a princess, he’s still essential to the story.

The series did a good job of introducing a main male character of color who was soft-hearted and free of toxic masculinity. His relationship with Glimmer that developed slowly over time was also handled well, and he never cared that he wasn't the center of the story but always tried to help those he cared about.

9 “Hey, Adora.”

While this is only a two-word line that might not seem that significant to people who aren’t fans of the show, it means a lot to the fan base. This is the greeting that Catra says to Adora over and over throughout the seasons, and while their relationship might change a lot over time, her inflection is usually very similar. It’s no wonder that fans rooted for these two characters to be together romantically given the tension that's apparent in just this small phrase. The chemistry between them was built up over the seasons.

8 “And Then I Met You. You Inspired us. You Inspired Me.”

This quote is part of a monologue given by Queen Angella, Glimmer’s mother, in the sixth episode of season three entitled, "The Portal." Angella is one of the more tragic figures on the show because she died when she sacrificed her life to close the portal and save Etheria at the end of season three. She says to Adora that Adora inspired her, “Not because it was your destiny, but because you never let fear stop you. And now, I choose to be brave.” It’s a great line that shows the importance of bravery in the series and also illustrates that even the adults in the show have their flaws.

7 "Imperfection Is Beautiful...At Least To Me."

This is a phrase that Entrapta says in the "Huntara" episode of season three, and she says variations of this quote multiple times throughout the series, especially to Hordak. Entrapta is one of the more interesting characters on the show in regards to her journey to find acceptance and friendship within the group, and she often feels that she doesn’t fit in.

Many fans have found inspiration from this quote because it reminds them that a person doesn’t have to be perfect or free of mistakes to be beautiful or good. Entrapta is someone who sees the world differently than most of the other characters, but this is one of her strengths.

6 “Friendship Isn't A Weakness. It’s My Greatest Strength.”

Perfuma says this line that speaks to the series’ focus on friendship in "Return to the Fright Zone", and it reminds viewers that kindness is over-underrated.

One of the best things about the series is that it has so many different female characters that have unique personalities and approaches to the world. Some are physically and emotionally tough while others are more softhearted and compassionate, but they are all represented as important and good. There's a lot of diversity between the many Princesses of Power, and Perfuma is one of the more sensitive and sweet ones.

5 “For The Honor Of Grayskull!”

While some of the quotes on this list are more serious and reflect the tone and plot of the show, this one is included because it’s truly iconic. It’s perhaps the most well-known line from the entire series and also hearkens back to the original She-Ra and He-Man shows.

Adora says this line when she transforms into She-Ra using her sword, and these transformation scenes are well-loved by fans. The original meaning of the phrase isn't explained all that well in the actual series, but fans who grew up with the original animated series appreciate the nod.

4 “I Didn't Break The World... But I Am Going To Fix It."

She gives everything she can to try and save Etheria and beat the Horde. Her determination is one of her best qualities, and this quote from season five reflects a lot about her personality as well as her hero’s journey.

Adora makes for a great protagonist and hero because she is rather complex. She’s easy to root for because Adora is a brave and loyal and strong character, but she also makes mistakes and can be too stubborn and act rashly. However, at the end of the day, she takes her role as She-Ra very seriously.

3 “I Am Brave, Strong, Loyal, And I Give Great Hugs.”

This line from the season four episode, "Princess Scorpia" sums up who this character is. While each fan is going to have their favorite characters, overall, most fans loved Scorpia. She might be on the “enemy” side of the story for most of the seasons, but she’s really likable and genuinely kind and generous. She gives a lot to try and help others and make friends, but she often doesn't get the care she deserves in return.

She’s very sweet and earnest, and this quote really encapsulates her approach to life. Luckily, Scorpia is able to learn to value herself and stand up for herself when people like Catra try to undermine her.

2 “You Love Me?..You’re Such An Idiot.”

Fans wanted Adora and Catra to be together from the beginning, and they ignored it as it looked like things would never work between them given Catra’s refusal to see the truth. However, they repaired the relationship between them, and Catra admitted to Adora that she loved her in the series finale, "Heart." Adora was surprised at this admission, but she then responded that she loved Catra, too. It was an important scene and one that many fans had been waiting seasons for.

Seeing as there still isn't all that much LGBTQ+ representation in all-ages media, having them admit their love for each other and kiss on-screen was a big step forward.

1 "You're Worth More Than What You Can Give Other People."

While in some ways, She-Ra can seem like a typical chosen one story where the hero gives all to save the world, but the series tried to show the flaws with these tropes. Mara, who was She-Ra before Adora, says this line that speaks to the importance of self-love and how self-sacrifice isn’t always all it's cracked up to be. It’s also become one of the most quoted lines from the series, and the way it upended self-sacrifice was important to the themes of the show. This told viewers that hurting yourself to save others wasn't always a virtue and that sometimes saving yourself is the most heroic thing of all.
