The Real Housewives Of New York: Every Finale Ranked, According To IMDb

For 13 seasons, The Real Housewives of New York has been delivering timeless moments that fans can't get enough of. With Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and Ramona Singer as some of the longest-running cast members in the RHONY series, their tight-knit bond is what makes the whole group's dynamic so intriguing.

Each season of RHONY typically has an ongoing storyline that's talked about throughout. But as juicy as those moments are, it's the finale episodes that really make the seasons, with Bravo's editors wrapping up the cast members' stories and showing viewers how they ended. However, some finales tanked in comparison to others, as anyone can see from the individual episode ratings on IMDb.

13 RHONY Season 13: 'So… That Happened' (5.4)

In season 13, fans were excited to have Eboni K. Williams as the newest Real Housewives cast member because they didn't know much about her and wanted new blood for the cast. Sadly, her first season on the series was a flop because the season as a whole was lackluster and felt forced. As a whole, the cast lacked chemistry and interesting storylines.

Instead of doing a typical finale (in which producers wrap up the stories the season told), this episode was a combination of never-seen-before moments. Fans were confused by this as it was later revealed that Bravo had canceled the reunion for the season as well. This make-shift finale has a low score because there was no resolution of the arguments among the women, which doesn't get fans excited for a following season.

12 RHONY Season 2: 'Charity Wives' (6.5)

In the second season of RHONY, the Housewives welcomed a new cast member: Kelly Bensimon. Right off the bat, Kelly made herself known in the group, but she ruffled a few feathers along the way, especially with Bethenny Frankle. Throughout the season, fans watched Bethenny launch her mega-brand, Skinnygirl, Luann launched a book about class and decorum, and Kelly battle with everyone.

The finale focused on Jill Zarin's charity event that she had been planning all season. Since this was the big finale event, Bethenny and Kelly tried putting their differences aside, but a reconciliation at that point was not happening. Shockingly, Ramona Singer and Jill also had a few heated moments at this event, ending the season on an entertaining if not hectic note. Because of the womens' disagreements with each other and the start of allies forming, this finale had promise.

11 RHONY Season 1: 'Second Chances' (6.8)

Season 1 had only seven episodes before the reunion because Bravo was still testing the waters to see if New York and its chosen Housewives would work well for the franchise. This was mainly an introductory season, as fans learned more about the cast, their families, their businesses, and their friendships. It wasn't The Real Housewives of New York's best season, but it wasn't its worst either. As an introductory season, there weren't many compelling storylines.

In the relaxed finale, all the cast members were shown doing their own thing with their families. Luann, her then-husband, and their kids went to see the Statue of Liberty; Jill and Bobby celebrated love; and the Van Kempens' talked through their children's schooling. The finale wrapped everyone's storylines in a nice, little bow, which is why it has an "OK" rating.

10 RHONY Season 9: 'Thank You And Goodnight' (6.8)

In season 9's finale, the women were just getting back from their epic vacation in Mexico and everyone was in good spirits. Bethenny was renovating her house, Tinsley was in a new relationship with Scott, Sonja was happily dating a man she called Frenchie, and Luann was still in a love bubble with her husband Tom.

The final scene had the cast members and their partners gather for a party thrown by Tinsley. Instead of a light affair, it turned hostile. Tinsley and Sonja began arguing after an entire season of living together, and the drama between Luann and Tom got heated when Tom saw an old fling. It was later revealed that Luann made the shocking decision to divorce Tom and that her happy home life was a facade. Luann's revelation made this finale what it was.

9 RHONY Season 11: 'Jesus, The Countess, And Joseph' (6.8)

The season 11 finale had so much going on, it's shocking it doesn't have a higher rating. In it, it was Christmas time, and all of the RHONY cast members had a lot going on. Ramona planned a surprise birthday party for Dorinda and Sonja, but it happened to be on the same night as Luann's Christmas-themed cabaret. A few of the women popped by Luann's dressing room to wish her luck before the party, but it wasn't enough for Luann, and she was offended that no one was coming to the show. Meanwhile, the women had a great time at the birthday party, but it was revealed that Bethenny had a near-death experience after an allergic reaction landed her in the emergency room. Those storylines alone made this finale an interesting one.

By the end of the episode, Dorinda had a long-awaited conversation with Tinsley about her relationship with Scott. Dorinda hated that Tinsley didn't share more about her relationship on cameras, which resulted in tension. Real Housewives fans felt like Dorinda went too far when prying into Tinsley's relationship, something she clearly wanted private. The finale served everything fans needed to drive up their excitement for the next season.

8 RHONY Season 12: 'Viva La Dysfunction' (7.1)

Season 12 welcomed a new cast member, Leah McSweeney. Although she was considerably younger than the others, she got along with everyone and was seen as a likable The Real Housewives of New York cast member — except by Ramona. The two had an odd, mother-daughter dynamic that didn't always go well, but fans found it entertaining to watch. Meanwhile, Tinsley left the series early after deciding to move to Chicago to be with her longtime boyfriend, and Ramona was choosing other friends to obsess over instead of her RHONY costars.

In the finale, the women gathered for a themed party as Luann excitedly performed her newest single for everyone in attendance. However, with Tinsley leaving the season early and Ramona ditching her RHONY friends for others, emotions were high at the party. Dorinda got in a fight with Leah when Leah mentioned Tinsley's name (due to Dorinda and Tinsley's disdain for each other), which had fans and the cast alike wondering why Dorinda was so triggered. After the reunion, it was announced that Dorina would be taking a break from RHONY to focus on herself. With the departure of two Housewives, the unanswered questions had fans drooling over this finale.

7 RHONY Season 10: 'Life Is A Cabaret' (7.1)

A lot happened in season 10 that needed to be hashed out in the finale. Bethenny and Carole's relationship hung by a string, Bethenny and Dorinda went to Puerto Rico for hurricane relief, Ramona launched a skincare line, and Luann was arrested and went to rehab.

The finale focused on yet another cabaret show centered around Luann but this time she had a surprise guest: Sonja Morgan. Meanwhile, Dorinda was fuming that Tinsley's boyfriend Scott was invited to the event but her boyfriend John was not. She refused to drop the issue throughout the night and brought it up to Luann after the show. Meanwhile, Dorinda and Ramona were still arguing because Bethenny didn't go to Ramona's skin-care launch and didn't apologize for it. This led to one of the best lines in The Real Housewives of New York season 10 when Ramona said, "Wow, Bethenny, wow. Wow. Wow," before leaving the scene. Because of all the drama, twists, and turns, this was a solid finale.

6 RHONY Season 3: 'Rebuked, Reunited, Renewed' (7.5)

In the third season of RHONY, Jill and Bethenny didn't mend their friendship and became enemies. Bethenny wasn't sad for too long, however, because this was the season where she got engaged and found out that she was pregnant. Season 3 was also Sonja Morgan's first season as a Housewife, which led to hilarious moments between her and Ramona. And speaking of Ramona, in this season she wanted to renew her vows to her husband. Vow renewals don't end well for most Housewives (as is proof when Ramona and Mario divorced years later) but at the time, it was a lavish affair.

Before the ceremony in the finale, all eyes were on Bethenny and Jill who had a sit down to discuss their falling out and the future of their friendship. Sadly, the conversation was a tad boring, and didn't have a solution to their issues. Because of that, this episode doesn't have the highest rating but it wasn't the worst on the list either.

5 RHONY Season 8: 'Say It Ain’t So' (7.5)

The season 8 finale covered the aftermath of when Luann found out that Tom cheated on her. Instead of thanking Bethenny for telling her the news about her fiance kissing another woman, Luann became angry with her and told her to mind her business. Real Housewives fans felt Luann went too far defending the man who wronged her instead of standing by her friends, but that was Luann in season 8.

Despite her argument with Luann, Bethenny threw a Skinnygirl fiesta for the Housewives where everyone had a good time. But the Housewives were thrown off when newbie, Jules Wainstein, admitted she was divorcing her husband of eight years after finding out he had been cheating on her. The revelation was just the shakeup this finale needed, giving it a great rating.

4 RHONY Season 7: ‘New Beginnings, My Ass’ (7.5)

In the seventh season, Ramona will never live down the fact that she threw a party for herself as a way to celebrate new beginnings after her divorce. Hilariously, she showed up early and didn't understand why no one else was there. But the real fun started after people trickled in.

In the finale, Luann was salty with Carole because Carole was in a new relationship with Luann's former chef. Likewise, Sonja and Kristen were bickering because Sonja heard that Kristen was making rude comments about her toaster oven and fashion line at her fashion show. Meanwhile, Bethenny didn't want to go to Ramona's "new beginnings" party because she didn't feel like Ramona was ready for new beginnings at all — she was the same old Ramona. However, she went anyway because she enjoyed a good party. In the end, Ramona thanked her friends for celebrating her and welcomed new beginnings. Because of all the intriguing loose ends between the cast members, this episode got a high rating.

3 RHONY Season 4: ‘L.O.V.E Duel' (7.6)

In the fourth season, the women went on a stunning trip to Morocco but it was anything but friendly. Fights broke out and the tension carried on throughout the season.

The finale kicked off with Luann planning a surprise party for her boyfriend of one year, Jacques. But what really gave this episode a high rating was when Ramona told an entire table at dinner that she wanted another baby. As a woman in her mid-fifties, everyone had their jaws on their plates. This emotion was multiplied when Ramona told everyone later at Jacques' party that she thought she was pregnant. Without taking a pregnancy test, Ramona essentially told everyone she and Mario were expecting. By the end of the finale, producers gave an update that Ramona was, in fact, not pregnant. This stir of emotions gave this finale a high score.

2 RHONY Season 5: ‘All’s Well That Doesn’t End Well’ (7.7)

Season 5 kicked off with the departure of four Housewives (Alex McCord, Jill Zarin, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, and Cindy Barshop). With their absence, Bravo added new Housewives to the mix, Aviva Drescher, Carle Radziwill, and Heather Thomson.

By the time the finale came, there were three big parties: Heather's fashion show, Sonja's toaster oven reveal, and Carole's book party. Heather's fashion show was a success, except for the fact that fellow Housewife, Aviva, was walking in the show and disobeyed Heather's rules for the catwalk. Aviva separated herself from other models by taking off her jacket, even though Heather told her not to. Nevertheless, the two women brush it under the table and head to Sonja's toaster oven party. The promotional images for the toaster oven were exceptional — largely in part to Heather's help with the photographer. But when Ramona gets in Sonja's ear and questions Heather's work, a fight breaks out. The jabs continued at Carole's book party. Aviva and Ramona continue to argue over the toaster oven party, and other Housewives chimed in to offer their two cents. Sonja soon joined the argument and felt that she was entitled to the pictures. But since Heather and her friend did it for free, Sonja wasn't entitled to anything. The episode ended with bickering, which got fans excited for the reunion.

1 RHONY Season 6: ‘The Last Leg’ (7.8)

In the sixth season, Aviva began butting heads with the other women due to a new book deal, Ramona was focusing on her family, and Ramona was not getting along with the new Housewife, Kristen Taekman. This all came to a head in the highest-ranking finale.

The episode began with the aftermath of Luann sleeping with Sonja's on-and-off boyfriend, Harry Dubin. Sonja was enraged at Luann and felt duped. Meanwhile, former Housewife, Kristen, was upset that her husband was hiring young models for his new business venture when she was already a model who would do the job for free. But the real drama happened at Sonja's party. It was the Housewives vs. Aviva when Aviva claimed her doctor lied to her about having asthma — which is why she didn't go on the cast trip. She also claimed that Carole—a notable journalist and author—had a ghostwriter. After Heather leaves the table because she's sick of a "fake" Aviva, Aviva claimed the only thing fake or artificial about her was her prosthetic leg. In the same breath, she slammed her prosthetic leg on the table in front of an audience. This scene became one of the most iconic moments in Real Housewives franchise history, making it the highest-rated RHONY finale.
