Why Joe Should Be The Next Bachelor If He Leaves Paradise Single

"Grocery store Joe" Amabile from Bachelor in Paradise is an icon and a familiar presence on the show, and it's time to talk about why fans would like him to be the next Bachelor. This is Joe's third stint in Bachelor Nation and his second trip to paradise. The beginning of season seven was difficult for him, to say the least, as it brought back memories of his romance with Kendall Long. At the moment, Joe is optimistic that things will heat up with Serena Pitt. If things do go south, the franchise wonder boy seems like a shoo-in for the next The Bachelor season.

While Kendall and Joe dated outside of paradise and thought they could go the distance, Joe explained to his latest paradise lover Serena that Kendall’s determination to stay in Los Angeles, close to her family, clashed with Joe’s desire to move back to Chicago. This ultimately led to their Bachelor in Paradise split.

While Joe may be a natural option for The Bachelor, he does have some love stories brewing in paradise. At the beginning of the season, a heartbroken Joe lamented briefly on the beach. However, he was in luck, because Serena was around and willing to cheer him up. At the first rose ceremony, Serena said, “Joe is just such a good guy, we’ve developed a good connection, and it definitely makes me feel good and optimistic that this whole thing could potentially work out.” Despite a major age difference, Serena, 22, and Joe, 34, have some authentic chemistry to work with, which is always a must.

After some more time passed, there was a question about whether the relationship was heading in as serious of a direction as it could. Joe, who is a DWTS alum, voiced, “I think Serena and I are ready to have a more real conversation about our future” and “see if things can go to the next level.” Joe finally got the opportunity to get off the beach with a date card. He immediately pivoted to Serena and asked her on a real date. Before jumping in, he said, “we’ve got chemistry and a flirty thing going“ and “we had a strong start, but now I’m not sure exactly where it’s going.”

Things got more personal ringside, during the wrestling-themed date. Joe said, “the reason I stayed is that I liked you and thought it could be more.” Neither would leave paradise in a relationship unless they felt completely committed to it. Once it was time to box, Serena pinned Joe quickly and claimed victory (and some smooches). Joe from BIP gushed about Serena. He said, “I am a hundred percent all-in on Serena. I think we both want a relationship and we both want to fall in love.” However, things took a turn last week as Joe’s ex Kendall showed up on the beach. She insisted she had unfinished business with Joe.

Joe looked shocked and full of some bittersweet nostalgia after witnessing his ex stroll into the place where they first fell in love. After a tough start, Kendall might initiate trouble that leads to an end for Joe and Serena. If things are disrupted enough, but Kendall doesn't win Joe back, he'll be available to step in as a brand-new Bachelor. Former Bachelor Nick Viall certainly thinks the editing may point to a "grocery store Joe" Bachelor season.  As an older cast member who has been through the wringer a few times across franchises, having his choice of women on a season made for him might be his best chance at finding love. It may also be the viewer's best chance at getting the amount of Joe content that they truly want. While fans want peace and love for Joe on Bachelor in Paradise, no one would mind seeing more of him if things don't work out.
