Despite all the drama and heartbreak in Teen Wolf, there was no shortage of funny moments. It's impressive that the show managed to stay light-hearted amidst tragedy, and the balance between the two contributed to its popularity and dedicated fanbase.
Everyone who joined the McCall Pack offered a new perspective and each member brought a unique sense of humor. The comedic aspect of Teen Wolf is due solely to the characters' personalities and the way they interacted with each other. However, the best jokes were the ones that ran throughout the entire series.
8 Coach Finstock Never Making Sense
It seemed like Coach Finstock had no idea what he was trying to say the majority of the time he was speaking. He would get so angry with his lacrosse team that he'd go off on completely nonsensical tangents. The characters were just as confused as viewers, which only added to the overall humor.
Stiles was especially at a loss for words when Coach said he'd punch him for pulling the fire alarm if he were four years younger. Considering he would still be a grown adult, four years is an odd number to choose.
7 Scott and Stiles Being Codependent
Scott and Stiles's friendship is the heart and soul of Teen Wolf. Without them sneaking off to the woods to look for a dead body in the pilot, the show wouldn't exist in the first place. But what the two of them share goes beyond friendship and enters familial territory.
They're the most important person in one another's lives, and they need each other to function. The other characters continuously make witty comments about their co-dependency, and after Stiles came back from the Wild Hunt, he and Scott refused to ever split up again.
6 Malia's Coyote-Like Tendencies
Malia spent half of her life stuck in the body of a coyote and knew nothing about societal expectations. The rules in the animal kingdom clearly differ from human laws, and Malia had difficulty adapting to a new way of life.
She was still living with a "kill or be killed" mentality and even saw her friends as food when she was first introduced to the show. Malia has significant character development throughout the series, but some of her coyote-like tendencies become ingrained in her personality.
5 Coach Yelling At Greenberg
There were several questions that went unanswered in Teen Wolf, and Greenberg's identity is the one that sticks out most. Greenberg was often the outlet for Coach Finstock's anger, and his most hilarious comments were directed towards him.
Greenberg only existed through word of mouth, and while he was implied to be present in several scenes, his face was never revealed. Viewers were given very little information on him, besides being a lacrosse player and Coach Finstock's favorite punching bag.
4 Derek Is Cousin Miguel
Given that Derek was a decade older than the rest of the characters, it appeared odd for Scott and Stiles to hang out with him so often. When Danny asks who he is, Stiles immediately introduces Derek as his cousin, Miguel.
Although he clearly wasn't happy about being Stiles's cousin, Derek's fake persona comes back into play later down the line. Miguel is forced to make his return when Derek ages backward into a teenager and Stiles introduces him to Scott's father.
3 Stiles And Lydia's Bickering
They're the fan-favorite ship for a reason, and Stydia's interactions result in some of the best episodes of Teen Wolf. While their romance becomes a major component of the series, Stiles and Lydia showcased their comedic side long before they were a couple.
The two bickered constantly, and there were times when they genuinely drove one another crazy. No matter what the situation was, Stiles and Lydia always provided hilarious dialogue and fans counted on them for amusement.
2 Liam Gets Treated Like A Child
In reality, Liam is only two years younger than the rest of the McCall Pack, yet the characters treat him like he's a child who needs a babysitter. Stiles is the biggest culprit of this, and he'll make comments about getting Liam home for his bedtime.
Liam does have several childish tendencies and doesn't help himself when it comes to adding fuel to the fire. Additionally, Scott's empathetic nature causes him to be extra protective of his beta. He feels like Liam is his responsibility, and while he acts like a parent, Liam treats Scott like he is one.
1 Stiles Being Bad At Lacrosse
Stiles proved that he was good at a lot of things throughout the series, but lacrosse was never one of them. He was consistently bad at the sport, and as much as viewers want to see Stiles succeed, keeping him on the bench during games was the right call.
While Stiles did lead the team to victory during Teen Wolf Season 2, it seemed to be a fluke. The confidence he displayed during the lacrosse match disappeared without a trace, most likely because the show didn't want to put an end to the running gag.
