Derek Fraizer has had a lot to say since leaving the Big Brother house nearly two weeks ago. Throughout the duration of the season, Derek played a more social game rather than a competitive game. Although he did not win any competitions all summer, Derek did manage to find himself in the final two on finale night. Derek did not win the season; however, he still brought home $75,000.
Sitting next to him in the final two was Xavier Prather. Xavier not only won the biggest cash prize in the history of the show, $750K; he also became the first ever Black winner of Big Brother. Both Xavier and Derek were a part of the dominating six person alliance called the Cookout. All season long they were working closely with Kyland Young, Tiffany Mitchell, Azah Awasum and Hannah Chaddha. Since the conclusion of the season, it has been unclear among the group as to which member is responsible for creating the alliance.
Following returning to reality, Derek has had a lot to say regarding his experience on the show this summer as well as how the season ultimately came to an end. Amid the live finale, Derek was heard joking about just giving him the second place prize so he could go home already following Azah's eviction. Needless to say, Derek was not surprised that he lost to Xavier; however, Xavier winning the season unanimously did shock Derek. Derek had told EW that he was actually expecting votes from his former Jokers teammate Britini D'Angelo. He also thought that Kyland would vote for him as well. Despite not getting any votes, Derek was still happy with the outcome of the game.
Initially, Derek felt he would have Azah's vote; however, due to their falling out that took place throughout the final days inside the house, this quickly changed. He truly believed that he played a major role in Azah being able to play a low-key game all summer long, avoiding evictions and never being seen as a target. For the first few weeks of the season, Derek felt he and Xavier were putting in the most work amongst the Cookout alliance. During these weeks, Derek would keep Azah up to date with what had been going on. He claimed that Azah had actually been sleeping for a majority of the summer while Azah recently admitted playing Big Brother was not actually fun.
Although it is unclear where Derek's friendship currently stands with Azah, he did send her nothing but best wishes. While Derek, and a majority of the other Big Brother 23 houseguests have returned home to their family and friends, some of the Cookout alliance members have continued spending time together in Los Angeles following the conclusion of the season.
