Hulk Is Trying To Get Even Stronger Using A New Cosmic Stone

Warning! Spoilers for Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #4 by Marvel Comics below

After already bonding with the Norn Stone, a transformed version of the Incredible Hulk has his sights on gaining even more power after learning the truth behind it. In the newest issue of Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads, Spider-Man, and the Hulk end up being teleported to a home base of the Deviants, whose leader informs the monstrous Jade Giant the Norn Stone is even more powerful than previously believed.

Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads has told the tale of Spider-Man traveling across the Crossroad Dimension after encountering Karnilla, the Queen of the Norns. Karnilla wants the Norn Stone for herself but ended up sending it and the web-slinger through the powerful reality, landing him face-to-face with the Hulk. However, after both Spider-Man and Hulk were sent back to a timeline with Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur, the latter ending up bonding with the Norn Stone, creating a horrific monster (that's connected to Brian Banner). Now, both heroes have been teleported to the Deviants - and the Hulk has a plan to get even stronger.

In Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #4 by Peter David, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, Frank D'Armata, and VC's Joe Sabino, the pair of heroes find themselves in the middle of a conflict between the Eternals and Deviants. After fighting the Deviants, their leader Kro reveals the Eternals want the transformed Hulk's Norn Stone, as the Celestials created the gems, allowing them to travel across dimensions. Kro tells the Hulk the Celestials created a Matrix Stone to control the different Norn Stones, which has been lost over time - until now. So Hulk's stone is really the lost Matrix Stone.

The Hulk monster grows into an even more giant creature after realizing the truth behind the gem as the Eternals board the Deviants ship. In the middle of a fight between the Deviants and Eternals, Karnilla arrives and plucks the Matrix Stone from the Hulk's head, which returns him to his green form. Spider-Man, Ikaris, and the Hulk chase Karnilla through a portal and end up in Norheim. However, they immediately get bad news, as the villain tells the heroes she has enough power to challenge Odin for the Nine Realms.

With Karnilla acquiring the Matrix Stone, there's no telling how powerful she has become. But, considering it was initially designed as a tool for the Celestials, the fact it's fallen into the wrong hands could be catastrophic for the Nine Realms and the rest of the Marvel Universe. Although, it might have been equally as dangerous if the transformed Hulk kept the stone - so at least Spider-Man has him on his team again. Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #4 is in comic book stores now.
