Kena: Bridge of Spirits - How to Beat Corrupt Woodsmith (Boss Fight)

Kena: Bridge of Spirits has 16 bosses for players to face in all. Corrupt Woodsmith is the eleventh boss in the game, and players may need some guidance on how to defeat her. Corrupt Woodsmith is the spirit of Adira, found in the beautiful Tower of Hana.

To free the spirit of Adira, players must erase all the area’s corruption and collect three relics. Kena players should keep in mind that Corrupt Woodsmith has a link with the Monolith. The Monolith must be broken, revealing the heart inside, before the real fight can begin.

Corrupt Woodsmith is a magical and elegant creature with only a few attacks, but those attacks hit hard. The first attack in her arsenal is her dash attack in which she charges up her weapon before darting forward to attack. Players can time Kena's dodge based on the charge-up of the weapon. Her slash attack is not only a slash of her weapon, but it also creates a fire wave that shoots outward toward the player. Lastly, Corrupt Woodsmith has a combination in which she uses her slash attack, then slams her hammer into the ground, which creates a shockwave around her. Kena will need to dodge the slash attack and back up to avoid the shockwave.

The boss fight with Corrupt Woodsmith doesn’t begin in earnest until the stone of the Monolith has been destroyed. Kena should use the Spirit Bomb to destroy the Monolith and the Spirit Bow to attack the heart inside. This is the boss’ weak point and is not actually on the boss herself. Repeating this process three times will sever the link between the Monolith and the boss, but it must be done quickly as Corrupt Woodsmith will attempt to reform the Monolith as soon as it is threatened.

The boss can also summon minions that players should either destroy or avoid. Players should stick with ranged attacks during this fight, at least until the boss falls to her knees. This occurs every time the Monolith’s heart is attacked and is the perfect opportunity to deal maximum damage with close-combat melee attacks since she temporarily can’t fight back.

Corrupt Woodsmith is a great boss fight for players who enjoy a long-range fighting style or hit-and-run combat. The fight must be kept at a fast pace to stop the boss from reforming the Monolith and creating a never-ending loop of a fight. Kena: Bridge of Spirits has multiple fights with beautifully grotesque monsters inspired by different cultures that just makes the game that much more memorable.
