Metroid Dread: How to Get From Cataris to Dairon | Screen Rant

For the most part, the path through Metroid Dread is straightforward, but there are some areas where players can get stuck. Trying to move on from Cataris to Dairon is a difficult puzzle to solve, but the way through isn't hard to once it's found. Although the inability to get through the blockage may seem game-breaking, players can still find their way through to Dairon.

Cataris is an area in Metroid Dread that players can reach from Artaria. It's the second region in the game and includes rooms with extreme heat and a new type of enemy, the E.M.M.I. This robot will seek Samus out using its sensors and kill her instantly if it catches her. Players will need to redirect the thermal flows while avoiding hazards and fighting or hiding from enemies. Doing so will lead players through Cataris to Dairon.

After the thermal flows are redirected, Samus will need to go to the shuttle to move on to the next area. The obvious way to Dairon is blocked off, so players need to use the Spider Magnet ability and Samus' Beam in order to get there. Later on, players will be able to find a new ability and clear the blockage for an easier path between the two regions in Metroid Dread. Until then, Samus will need to use this one-way path into Dairon.

At the Cataris Shuttle that leads to the beginning of the Dairon region, there is a blue wall and ceiling that Samus can climb using the Spider Magnet ability. Keep going to reach a dead end, then turn around and fire at the blocks on the floor directly in front of Samus. There are two blocks on the ground that can be destroyed, then Samus can drop down and enter the new Metroid Dread region, Dairon. As players progress through this area, there will be a new ability to collect that will allow players to clear the blocked path from Cataris to Dairon.

To get the Wide Beam in Dairon, players will need to restore power to the facility and locate the Chozo Statue holding the new upgrade. The Wide Beam fires three shots at multiple targets. Along with clearing the blockage in Cataris, the new weapon upgrade can be used to open three-pronged doors that players were previously unable to open.

While most of Metroid Dread has a clear linear progression, there are some areas that can be confusing or difficult to reach. In order to get to Dairon, players need to utilize the Spider Magnet and destroy specific blocks. Aside from various puzzles, Metroid Dread has dangerous environments and powerful enemies, like the E.M.M.I.
