Selling Sunset: About Heather Rae Young & Tarek El Moussa's Wedding

Wedding bells recently rang for Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young and Tarek El Moussa, who tied the knot on October 23, and it's time to share details about their big day. They met during a Fourth of July boat party in 2019, and Heather and Tarek announced their engagement last summer, after celebrating their one-year dating anniversary. Fourteen months later, they said, "I do."

Their nuptials come on the heels of the Selling Sunset season 4 release date (Nov. 24) announcement, but it's unclear how much screentime the couple's relationship will get in the upcoming season. However, Netflix did bring fans along for Mary Fitzgerald's and Christine Quinn's weddings during the finales of seasons 2 and 3. For this reason, it's possible that viewers will learn more about Heather and Tarek's relationship in season 4. Whether or not the couple has a prominent storyline, fans can watch their wedding preparations and the ceremony itself in a one-hour special Discovery+ special. The couple, who initially decided to not film the wedding, changed their minds, saying that they wanted Tarek's children Taylor and Brayden to be able to watch the wedding again in the future.

After hiring a new wedding planner, Heather and Tarek scrapped their original plans to marry in Cabo, Mexico, opting for a stateside wedding in Southern California instead. The couple selected a timeless color palette featuring white, champagne, black, and gold, and went for a romantic Old Hollywood theme. They married in an outdoor ceremony, surrounded by their friends and family, including Tarek's kids that he shares with his ex-wife (Flip or Flop co-star Christina Haack). The ceremony took place on the grounds of a hotel in Montecito, California, and featured four beautiful white flower arches, three of which were behind the bride and groom at the altar.

Reality star Heather wore an expensive-looking dress with long sleeves and a corset, which was custom-made by Israeli designer, Gail Lahav. The fitted gown was embellished with French lace and featured a keyhole back. Heather wore the dress for the ceremony and reception, accessorizing with clear stiletto heels designed by Amina Muaddi. Heather kept her hairstyle simple but she'd gotten more creative at the rehearsal dinner, where she wore a long braid. For the wedding ceremony, she had her hair styled in a low bun. While Heather wowed in white, Tarek donned a black velvet tux lined with a skull and crossbones fabric.

Tarek's longtime friend and attorney Roger Behle served as the officiant for the ceremony, while Tarek's kids joined their father and new Selling Sunset stepmom at the altar as the couple said their vows. Tarek's daughter Taylor walked down the aisle with him, while her brother Brayden was the ring bearer. The wedding was definitely a family affair. Guests were treated to a lavish cocktail hour with custom cocktails. The tasty beverages featured engraved ice cubes and gold flecks. There was also a champagne wall that paid homage to Tarek's HGTV shows, Flip or Flop and Flipping 101, as well as a live performance featuring a violinist and saxophonist. Following a four-course dinner, additional late-night snacks were available for guests, including cotton candy and pizza.

Many of Heather's Selling Sunset castmates were also in attendance and added pictures and videos of the black-tie event to their Instagrams. Chrishell Stause shared the menu, which included a plant-based Bolognese and island halibut, along with a video of herself with the bride. Mary shared the newlyweds' introduction as they greeted guests for their reception. This wedding was fabulous, as Heather and Tarek pulled out all the stops.
