It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is full of the most detestable characters possible, as they're all self-centered and deceitful, much like the show it's influenced by, Curb Your Enthusiasm. But Always Sunny takes it much further than the Larry David-starring show, as almost every character is a violent criminal.
That's exactly why an Always Sunny-based version of The Hunger Games would make for one of the most entertaining battle royales yet. But though all of the characters are passionate in their hatred, some of them wouldn't last two seconds in the arena.
10 The Waitress
Even though she has some terrible qualities, compared to the main Sunny gang, the Waitress is as wholesome as they come. Being one of their many victims, the Hunger Games arena would be the perfect place for Waitress to get revenge on the gang in a no-questions-asked kind of way. But, unless it was Charlie, she wouldn't dare fight anybody.
Not only does Waitress not have any kind of skill that would help her in the arena, like the other characters, but she would probably even surrender herself. The Waitress would do anything she can so she doesn't have to spend an exorbitant amount of time on an island with the people she hates most in life.
9 The Lawyer
Though he's essentially an unnamed character, that doesn't mean that the Lawyer hasn't had a big effect on the show and has caused major damage to the gang's livelihood. He is one of the few characters to have gotten one over on the Paddy's Pub crew, as it's usually them who are ruining others' lives.
The Lawyer is one of the best characters introduced after season 1, as he tricked the gang into signing a contract the gives him the profits of all Paddy's Pub-related merchandise. However, without the law by his side, the gang would eat the Lawyer alive. The Hunger Games isn't a battle of wits, but a battle royale where anything goes, and his opponents would be savages if they got ahold of him.
8 Dee Reynolds
Dee Reynolds is the alpha female when it comes to the Always Sunny characters, as she steamrolls over both Artemis and Waitress, making them lose all self-respect and dignity. And she has proved that she can take them both in a fight too. But when it comes to the rest of the gang, she doesn't stand a chance.
Being called a bird and having tons of other names hurled at her might bring some fire out in Dee, but she won't last long. And though it's a close call, Dee is the loudest of the group and she'd be quick to attract unwanted attention.
7 Mac
Mac obviously has the best physique of any other character on the show, and strength goes a long way in the Hunger Games. However, when it comes to actually having to prove any of his skills and abilities, he's the world's biggest procrastinator.
Whenever Mac pulls off so-called martial arts moves, which are all essentially over-the-top karate chops, what audiences are seeing is total bravado. There's no depth to his martial arts training, his muscles are for show, and he'd most likely be helpless in the Hunger Games.
6 Luther Mac
Mac's father, Luther, is a convicted felon and gangster. The character has clearly seen things and probably even been involved in several killings in the past. He even threatened to kill Mac and Charlie as soon as he gets out of jail and instilled fear in them within an inch of their lives.
But his bark is worse than his bite, as when he did get out, he took the two of them on a day trip. However, his unknown history could serve him fairly well in the arena, and his unnerving intimidation factor will help too.
5 Charlie Kelly
Charlie might be one of the most likable characters in Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but there's still an evil streak that runs through him. He might not even know what he's doing, as he seems to have the mentality of a child, but that's also why others would mistakenly let their guards down around him.
The character is still one of the most dangerous of them all, and there are so many examples of how depraved he can be, such as when he kidnapped who he thought to be a leprechaun. And at the same time, Charlie is smarter than most people give him credit for, as he even managed to fake his own death. He could apply that wild-card-thinking in the arena.
4 Dennis Reynolds
The whole Sunny gang has committed tons of crimes. In fact, not an episode goes by when a crime isn't committed, whether it's as minor as cheating a health inspection or as major as kidnapping a restaurant critic and faking having cancer.
However, though it wasn't proven, Dennis has most likely committed the worst crime possible: murder. He is definitely the most deranged of the gang, and there are so many things that point to Dennis being psychotic. He'd be most willing to do what it takes to win the Hunger Games, whereas others might not be so trigger-happy.
3 Liam McPoyle
Every member of the McPoyle family would actually stand a good chance in the arena, as they have great survival skills and don't mind being unclean, but Liam McPoyle stands the best chance. He has managed to bribe the gang, hold them hostage, and he is generally impulsively violent.
McPoyle is as much of a wild card as Charlie, but Liam is much more dangerous. Even having his eye pecked out by a bird didn't make him stand back and assess his way of life, it just made him angrier and more volatile. In the Hunger Games arena, Liam would be out for blood.
2 Frank Reynolds
A small minority of Redditors think Frank is the worst of the Always Sunny gang, but regardless of what people think of him, he's the most capable of looking after himself than any other character. After all Frank has been through, it's amazing that he has survived this long and at the end of every episode, after all of the trials and tribulations, Frank still somehow comes out on top.
Frank is manipulative and he's three steps ahead of everyone at any given time. And even at his lowest moments, he still survives. Between getting trapped in a children's playground and tearing his back apart on a dry waterslide, Frank has overcome the worst. Even on the Hunger Games ground, Frank would still end up pulling the strings, and he wouldn't even have to do any of his own bidding.
1 Rickety Cricket
It would be a completely different story if Rickety Cricket was still a priest like when he was first introduced. But the gang beat him down so much that he has now become immune to pain.
His time on the street has taught him so many survival skills. When Dennis and Mac were hunting Cricket, he evaded them by climbing up the scaffolding like a cat. Ironically, the gang created the very thing that would take them all down in the Hunger Games. They created a monster.
