Using in-game tools, one Animal Crossing: New Horizons player managed to faithfully recreate a classic The Fairly OddParents meme. Nintendo's release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March 2020 set off a phenomenon almost unlike anything else. ACNH now counts among Switch's best-selling titles, with well over 35 million copies sold worldwide. Needles to say, the latest update and content release ensure these astronomical sales figures will continue to climb for months on end.
The above-mentioned update, ACNH 2.0, went live last week and introduced a whole host of exciting new content, including Brewster and The Roost café. A few more villagers joined the game as well, along with additional island customization options, permanent ladders, and fresh shopping spots for those who like visiting Harv's Island. Animal Crossing: New Horizon's also recently received its first and final paid DLC expansion in the form of Happy Home Paradise, which bears a $25.00 price tag. Apart from exploring all of the new content, what else might New Horizons players be up to? Recreating classic memes, apparently.
On Twitter, Animal Crossing: New Horizons player Brittany Leigh Turnbull shared her in-game recreation of a classic Fairly OddParents meme. The meme in question centers on Timmy's dad, Mr. Turner, yelling furiously about not having a trophy in his trophy room. In one image, the Turner patriarch proudly shows off his trophy display box, which is appropriately surrounded by spotlights. The next image sees him lamenting the fact that he's never received a trophy. Turnbull's reproduction of the classic The Fairly OddParents scene in ACNH perfectly matches the energy of a frustrated Mr. Turner. Check it out in the post linked below:
The above serves as proof positive that New Horizons players are experts at reimagining pop culture staples. For example, another ACNH user recently created Futurama-inspired characters. Even Silent Hill 3 memes have popped up in the Nintendo Switch exclusive. Who knows what else creative players may have up their sleeves as time wears on?
Since Happy Home Paradise and Update 2.0 constitute the end of major content releases for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, many have pondered what Nintendo plans to do with the series next. A sequel to the 2020 title seems to make the most sense, yet the publisher hasn't so much as teased what a new Animal Crossing installment could entail.
