Hailee Steinfeld Shares Hawkeye Episode 1 Set Photo & Heartfelt Message

Hailee Steinfeld shares a set photo from episode 1 of Hawkeye along with a heartfelt message to MCU fans. The Academy Award-nominated actress makes her highly-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the Disney+ series as Clint Barton's young super-fan, protégée, and eventual successor to the Hawkeye mantle. The show will also see Florence Pugh reprise her role as Yelena Belova from Black Widow and introduce another hero, Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), who will be getting her eponymous series on Disney+ titled Echo.

Set two years after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Hawkeye finds Kate masquerading as Ronin, which draws Clint's attention along with enemies from his past as the vigilant, the Tracksuit Mafia. In turn, the veteran sharpshooter is forced to team up with the budding archer to squash the underground crime organization and make it home to his family in time for Christmas. Hawkeye also stars Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Brian d'Arcy James, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, and Zahn McClarnon.

Now that the first two episodes of Hawkeye are streaming on Disney+, star Hailee Steinfeld took to social media to share a set photo taken on the first day of filming, "following an overly excited freak out," the actress admits. Steinfeld captioned the image with a heartfelt message to fans, expressing her gratitude for joining the MCU and excitement for audiences who get to see the show unfold over the next four weeks. While Hawkeye acts as the first solo outing for Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton, the introduction of Steinfeld's Kate Bishop is of greater focus. Like Black Widow, the Disney+ series aims to give its titular character a satisfying solo story and sendoff while properly introducing their successor, even if that means outshining them, which many accused Pugh's Yelena Belova of doing for Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) in the MCU movie.

Now that Hawkeye has finally seen the light of day on Disney+, the cast can share some set photos taken during the production of the first two episodes. While this specific photo doesn't reveal anything significant about the show's plot, it highlights Steinfeld's enthusiasm for the role and her appreciation for being part of the MCU. Hopefully, Kate and Clint will be able to share the spotlight in the coming weeks. The first two episodes are now streaming for those who haven't yet seen Steinfeld's debut in Hawkeye.
