Teresa Giudice is finally opening up about how she fell out of love with Joe Giudice on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Now that she's in love with someone else and has completely moved on from Joe, Teresa feels more comfortable about speaking about her first marriage. Since the ladies can break the fourth wall on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Teresa is letting it all out and has been speaking with no filters. While talking to Cynthia Bailey, Teresa dished on the events that led to the end of her marriage.
It's been two years since Teresa filed for divorce from Joe after being married to him for 20 years. The former couple had gone through a lot of downs prior to the filing. Joe was deported and had been living in Italy following their consecutive prison sentences. During a visit to Italy with her daughters, Teresa realized her romantic feelings for Joe were no longer there. She told viewers that she built resentment toward him after both of her parents passed away and she lost time with them due to her incarceration.
On RHUGT, however, Teresa opened up a bit more and shared how she "felt nothing" for Joe during that trip to Italy. "When he got out, I was like, 'This is my true test. What will I feel?' And I didn't feel anything," Teresa told Cynthia, as noted by Page Six. She recalled having some alone time with Joe and not being turned on by his advances. "I hate to even say this, but one night, he laid on top of me but without clothes on, and he was trying to kiss me, and I just couldn't even open my mouth," Teresa recalled. "I was so disconnected." That was the turning point in Teresa and Joe's marriage. In turn, they have remained great friends and have been co-parenting partners since their split. Luis even joined Teresa and her daughters for a dinner with Joe in the Bahamas.
While Joe noted how fast Teresa moved towards remarrying, he has also expressed his support for her engagement. Joe was the first to move on after their divorce. Currently, he has been dating an Italian lawyer Daniela Fittipaldi. Meanwhile, the Giudice girls are just happy to see their parents happy, even if it's not with each other. Teresa and Joe had visible tension in the early seasons of RHONJ. At one point, Joe was even caught bad-mouthing his wife on a phone call with someone else.
Joe Giudice also had a terrible relationship with Teresa's brother, Joe Gorga. They went to blows twice on the show, and the tension between them was too thick to ignore. Luis is the first person Teresa has publicly dated after divorcing Joe. Fans are looking forward to her sharing more about their romance on The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 12.
