Spider-Man Marvel's Avengers Trailer Shows His Web-Swinging Moves

A new Marvel's Avengers cinematic trailer reveals Spider-Man, the game's next wall-crawling superhero addition. Crystal Dynamics' multiplayer action game features a large number of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and free expansions continue to expand that heroic roster. Spider-Man's November 30 release date was recently revealed, with the iconic hero coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 and 5 versions of Marvel's Avengers.

Before the launch of Marvel's Avengers in 2020, Spider-Man was confirmed as one of the multiple DLC additions to the game's line-up. Marvel's amazing web-slinger will come exclusively to Sony consoles, similar to Insomniac Games' acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man titles. No set release date was announced for Spider-Man at the time, and players have now waited more than a year for any news about New York's wisecracking defender. Recently, developer Crystal Dynamics shared Spider-Man's Marvel's Avengers design, which came not long after the announcement of the character's release date.

Spider-Man's cinematic Marvel's Avengers reveal trailer, showcased by IGN, gives players their first look at the classic Marvel hero. Set in the game's Manhattan map, the trailer sees Spidey stumble across a shady group of soldiers in a back alley. Showing off his quips, agile combat moves, and web-based attacks, he makes short work of the enemy team. When he becomes outnumbered, Spider-Man is joined by the other Avengers for a picture-perfect team-up pose. The end of the trailer sees the Web-Head swinging across the city, possibly teasing his unique form of in-game traversal.

While Crystal Dynamics continues to bring free updates to the game regularly, Marvel's Avengers disappointed Square Enix according to a recent statement from the publisher's president. Upon launch a year ago, the game was heavily criticized for its technical issues, microtransactions, and lack of meaningful endgame content. Crystal Dynamics has tried to fix these problems through ongoing updates, with the game's latest expansion Black Panther - War for Wakanda being used as something of a fresh start. While the multiplayer Marvel game has been unable to draw back a sizable playerbase, many positive changes are set to arrive in the game's November 30 update, such as a rework of its gear and cosmetic systems

Following up Marvel's Avengers' version of Black Panther, the game seems to have skillfully translated Spider-Man into its world. The character's default costume is bright and vibrant, with a design that is both unique and calls to mind popular adaptations like Marvel's Spider-Man. The cinematic trailer shows off the character's lighthearted personality, while also depicting a team-up with the other eight Avengers. Unfortunately only PlayStation owners will be able to make use of the iconic character, but Spider-Man's entrance into Marvel's Avengers looks suitably spectacular.
