Will Ashley ever be able to find a common ground with Candiace on The Real Housewives of Potomac? Bravo viewers highly doubt the two women will ever be close friends.
Ashley Darby had an insanely hard time last season with all the women coming after her marriage to husband Michael Darby. The Australian businessman was caught cheating on his wife. He also denied sexual misconduct claims against a Bravo cameraman. In fact, there was more than one misconduct claim the restauranteur had to address during the reunion special of The Real Housewives of Potomac. The former Bravo cameraman accused Micahel of having “grabbed and groped” his butt while filming the past season. He was charged with felony assault with a misdemeanor for improper sexual contact, but the charges were dismissed by the Montgomery County court due to insufficient evidence.
The women of the nation’s capital refused to believe Michael was innocent. Most stand by the belief that there was just not enough proof to verify his guilt. When criticizing Michael, Candiace Dillard Basset was the worst offender. She openly questioned Ashley’s desire to get pregnant and called her a "roach" on the day of her delivery.
Ashley has been having a very hard time since the birth of her baby boy, Dean. So, the women wanted to treat her to a night out. The new mother had her reservations when she found out Candiace would be in attendance, since they have not been amicable since the butter knife incident where Ashely confronted her co-star for speaking out about her marriage. Ashley is still waiting on an apology from Candiace for the misunderstanding, but was not about to get it. Gizelle Bryant broke the ice and Robyn Dixon tried to explain to Candiace that all she had to say was, "You know what girl, I apologize for all that crazy mess." The beauty queen refused to take the hint and instead began cursing the women out. Bravo fans truly believe that if Candiace does not take responsibility for her shade, the two women will never be able to have a relationship.
The two housewives are in totally different places in their lives and there does not seem to be any love lost. Ashely bluntly told the women that she did not even want Candiace to speak her son’s name. Of course, that comment was petty, but it showed the deep hurt she harbored. Candiace is going to have a long season if she keeps distancing herself from the women on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
