Newly revealed Justice League concept art shows off the additional arms Cyborg sports in the latest trailer for Zack Snyder's much-anticipated cut of the film. Justice League hit theaters in 2017 and was a bomb with both critics and audiences, leading to a regime change and major course correction at DC Films. The theatrical cut of the film, among many other issues, cut down Cyborg's role considerably. Cyborg actor Ray Fisher has been vocal about his experience under replacement director Joss Whedon, who was brought on to finish the film when Snyder suffered a family tragedy, though he and the studio were likely headed for a divorce anyway.
Fisher has claimed Whedon acted unprofessionally during production of Justice League, accusations that have snowballed to include a large swath of the casts of Whedon's popular TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. HBO Max has brought Snyder in to finish his vision of the film, after a massive, years-long social media campaign. The promotional images and teasers for Snyder's cut of the film suggest Cyborg will have a more robust role this time around.

The newest trailer shows off Cyborg's additional arms, as he seemingly prepares for battle in the Knightmare reality, a kind of vision Batman has of a possible future where Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips have decimated Earth. Oddly, the Joker seems to be on hand in this reality too, which will be the first meeting between Ben Affleck's Batman and Jared Leto's clown prince of crime.
Snyder's cut of Justice League is primed to be a very different animal than the theatrical version. For one thing, it's going to be twice the length at a staggering four hours. Snyder has also claimed it will be lighter on jokes, as the Whedon cut featured plenty of the latter director's stock witticisms, which clashed considerably with the somber tone that came before in the DC Extended Universe. It will also feature a much bigger role for Darkseid, who only got a brief mention in the theatrical cut.
Cyborg's future in the DCEU after Justice League is not clear. He was slated to have a role in The Flash, but Fisher has said he refuses to work with the studio while Walter Hamada is still in charge. Hamada likely isn't going anywhere as his reign as the head of DC Films has been a largely successful one, so fans may want to take in all the Cyborg they can from Snyder's cut of Justice League.
