National Geographic has unveiled a new trailer for The World According to Jeff Goldblum season 2, and it’s just as quirky as fans of the eccentric actor might expect. Produced by National Geographic for Disney+, The World According to Jeff Goldblum first premiered in November 2019. The documentary series follows Jeff Goldblum as he explores a collection of disparate topics, enlisting experts to deepen his and the viewers’ edification. Season one takes on sneakers, denim, ice cream, and tattoos, among other far-reaching subjects, all through the lens of its curious host. In January 2020 Disney and Nat Geo announced that the show would be renewed for a second season.
Now, on the occasion of Goldblum’s 69th birthday, Nat Geo and Disney+ have shared the trailer for the upcoming season of The World According to Jeff Goldblum. The trailer boasts an array of new topics for Goldblum to uncover, including magic, fireworks, monsters, dogs, and dance. Season two also promises an impressive panel of experts, including famed magicians Penn & Teller and Academy Award-winning animator Phil Tippet, known for his work on Star Wars and Jurassic Park. The trailer is accompanied by new key artwork featuring the clever slogan, “Everything he touches turns to Goldblum.” Watch Goldblum “learn about everything” in the trailer below.
“My acting life caused me to seek openness and interest in the unseen,” says Goldblum in the trailer as he gazes skyward. The actor’s diverse resume certainly indicates a knack for the unknown. Goldblum is perhaps best known for his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the Jurassic Park franchise, as well as his turn as David Levinson in the similarly high-grossing Independence Day. He’s also fondly remembered for starring in the cult horror film The Fly and appearing in Thor: Ragnarok, with Goldblum teasing a reprisal of The Grandmaster in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.
The synopsis for The World According to Jeff Goldblum reads, “Jeff is back, and he’s as curious as ever in the second season. He’s our playful and inquisitive guide to uncover more surprising secrets about seemingly familiar topics — magic, fireworks, monsters, dogs and dance. In each new episode, Jeff’s insatiable appetite for learning and sense of wonderment take him from coast to coast to meet with passionate fans, experts and scientists, to gain a deeper understanding of how ordinary objects are extraordinary.” The first five episodes of The World According to Jeff Goldblum will stream on Disney+ beginning November 12, with the five remaining episodes becoming available in early 2022.
