On Selling Sunset, The Oppenheim Group women bring the drama, but fans have started throwing shade at the men of the series due to their messy behavior. From twin bosses Jason and Brett Oppenheim to the real estate agents' significant others, there have been many guys playing larger roles in season four. Due to higher visibility, the male cast members' actions and motivations are being scrutinized.
Selling Sunset follows the lives of luxury real estate agents in Beverly Hills, as they navigate office drama and personal issues while trying to sell as many multi-million dollar mansions as possible. Though the women are the focus of the show, their husbands and boyfriends have started grabbing the spotlight and stirring the pot. This season focused on Selling Sunset villain Christine Quinn's pregnancy, as well as Heather Rae Young's engagement to HGTV mainstay, Tarek El Moussa. Jason and Brett were also featured. as they worked on expanding their business to a second location and hiring a new agent, Emma Hernan.
Chrishell Stause had a high-profile marriage (and subsequent divorce) with actor Justin Hartley, and in true soap opera fashion, he ended their four-year marriage with a single text. In one of the more heartbreaking moments on the show, Chrishell tearfully said that she only learned about Justin filing the divorce papers a couple of hours before the rest of the world did. Chrishell's new beau (her boss, Jason) has also come under fire in Selling Sunset season four for his questionable hiring choices. When Christine went on maternity leave, he hired her archenemy Emma, who only recently entered The Oppenheim Group fray to boost the drama.
Speaking of Christine and Emma, the women loathe each other because they previously dated the same guy at the same time. The guy was recently revealed to be another realtor at The Oppenheim Group, Peter Cornell. Peter treated both women poorly, and though he has not appeared on Selling Sunset, fans of the show have already called him out for cheating. Viewers are hoping that he makes an appearance on the confirmed season five so he can answer to Christine and Emma.
Mary Fitzgerald's husband Romain Bonnet and Christine's husband Christian Richard have both made controversial statements on the show. Mary and Romain have had several issues over the course of four Selling Sunset seasons, and many fans turned against him when he did not seem interested in having children with Mary. Christian also made waves on the show after insulting Chrishell by saying she was jealous of his wife because she had gotten divorced while he and Christine are still married.
The men have not been holding back when it comes to sharing their opinions this season, with Tarek also joining in on the drama in the season four finale. He even coached Selling Sunset star Heather on how to talk to Christine. Since the men are putting themselves out there, just like the women, they can anticipate more shade being thrown at them in the future.
