Cloak & Dagger: Characters Sorted Into Their Hogwarts Houses

Cloak And Dagger might have ended with its second season, but at least some of the characters got to have another adventure in season three of Runaways. The series was Freeform’s first foray into the Marvel superhero franchise, and audiences certainly loved the characters that made the series both emotional and entertaining.

Since Cloak And Dagger leans a little more into the magic and myth of the natural world with its exploration of themes in voodoo, the characters would likely find the magic of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts fascinating. There would be a lot of magical avenues for characters to explore there, though they’d have to be sorted into their own Hogwarts houses first.

10 Detective Connors: Slytherin

Detective Connors was, for long, the nightmare that haunted Tyrone’s dreams. He's the man responsible for the death of Tyrone’s brother Billy, and he’s an easy sort into Slytherin.

Connors rose through the ranks of the police department by allowing his politically connected family to get him out of trouble over and over again. He constantly hid the truth from people, lorded his power over new police officers, and did anything and everything he could to maintain his power. Connors was the worst kind of Slytherin.

9 Evita Fusilier: Ravenclaw

Evita is one of the most difficult characters to sort from Cloak And Dagger. The sorting hat would likely have had a long conversation with her when it landed on her head thanks to her courage, selflessness, and loyalty. Ultimately, her knowledge of voodoo practices and her love for learning about her home and culture lands her in Ravenclaw.

Evita developed a very specific knowledge base and skill set by working with her aunt for so long. She led tours of New Orleans, knew all the best ghost stories, knew her history, and had a working knowledge of voodoo rituals. Those she didn’t know, she was able to figure out based on the knowledge she did possess. Evita was the kind of woman who didn’t stop until she knew everything about the subject she was interested in.

8 Liam Walsh: Hufflepuff

Despite his penchant for relieving rich people of their money, Liam isn’t especially cunning, so he can’t end up in Slytherin. Instead, his earnestness and his loyalty to Tandy make him more likely to end up in Hufflepuff.

When the series first began, Liam was Tandy’s boyfriend and closest friend. He might not have known where she actually lived, but he was the person she turned to when a con went wrong. Liam was willing to give up everything, including all of his hard-earned money, to help her get out of town. He even landed in jail for his trouble. All Liam wanted was to make Tandy happy and keep her safe, a chance he didn’t get.

7 Andre Deschaine: Slytherin

When a promising musician finds himself plagued with migraines, does he find a new way to follow his dreams, or does he turn down an evil path? In the case of season two villain Andre Deschaine, he does both.

Andre was introduced as a man who was helping the community. In reality, he was spreading misery and trafficking young women in New Orleans. He didn’t do it because he felt like he had to, or because he couldn’t get out of a bad situation. No, Andre did it because drowning people in despair made his migraines go away, allowing him to play his music again. He wanted to be a musician, but he also wanted to be remembered as a god. His ego and his selfish use of his talents make him a Slytherin.

6 Lia Dewan: Hufflepuff

Lia didn’t want to be a villain. She was desperate to keep Andre happy. Lia was a victim of his who had been so broken that her only loyalty was to him by the time the audience met her. That loyalty meant she led support groups and trafficked abuse survivors for him, keeping him with a steady supply of miserable women.

That makes Lia sound like she could be as much of a Slytherin as Andre, but deep down, she wasn’t. Instead, Lia was more of a Hufflepuff. Originally a nurse, she had a caregiving instinct ingrained in her; it was just put to use in a twisted way to keep herself on Andre’s good side.

5 Brigid O’Reilly: Gryffindor

A New York police detective who came to New Orleans for a change, Brigid got a little more than she bargained for. Embroiled in the conspiracy behind the death of Billy Johnson and pulled into the Cloak And Dagger world of supernatural powers, Brigid had to think on her feet and figure out who to trust.

Despite her no-nonsense attitude, Brigid followed her heart like a true Gryffindor. She placed her faith in a teenage boy she barely knew and turned out to be right about him. Brigid showed a whole lot of bravery when she attempted to take on the corruption within the police department with little help as well.

4 Mayhem: Slytherin

It would feel disingenuous to not remember that Mayhem really was her own person in season two. Yes, she’s a part of Brigid, but since she existed outside of her as well, she should get her own Hogwarts house.

Mayhem is the part of Brigid that’s willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. When she was separated from the rest of Brigid, Mayhem had no problem taking lives, hurting innocent people, or lying to everyone around her in favor of the bigger picture. She was a pragmatic Slytherin who saw no problem with crossing lines if it justified the end result.

3 Mina Hess: Ravenclaw

If anyone is a stereotypical member of their Hogwarts house on Cloak And Dagger, it’s Mina Hess. She devoted her entire life to science, so we know she’s a pretty smart cookie.

Mina didn’t just research though; she strapped on her boots and waded through the rivers to get results herself. She diligently followed leads and experimented on her own if she couldn’t get assistance from the division of Roxxon she worked for. Mina even applied what she knew about science into her everyday life, baking cookies that could act as natural mood boosters.

2 Tyrone Johnson: Hufflepuff

When the series began, Tyrone did his best to not make any waves. He didn’t want trouble, and he especially didn’t want to disappoint his parents. That can give a slightly skewed perception of him, but his need to keep the peace, his need to help people, and the effort he put into maintaining his grades, his athletics, and his relationships, showed us that he was definitely a Hufflepuff.

When Tandy would go off the rails, it was Tyrone who would pull her back. When he needed to understand more about his “cloak,” Tyrone put in the work, practicing with piles of pennies and his own powers. He was one of the hardest working and most loyal characters in the series.

1 Tandy Bowen: Gryffindor

Emotional, impulsive, judgmental, and brave to a fault. That’s Tandy Bowen. No one is a bigger Gryffindor than she is in Cloak And Dagger.

Tandy spent her formative years holding grudges and believing in very specific lies about her childhood so she didn’t have to face the truth. That stubborn belief is so very Gryffindor of her. Her quick jumps to conclusions - and her quicker jumps to try and save the day - show her heroic side. Tandy might have allowed her emotions to control her actions a lot, but they usually served her well.
