Rachel's dating life began with dumping Barry at the altar. She became the girl in the veil who broke Barry's heart in front of his friends and family. The only person she knew in the city was her friend, Monica. So she came looking for her in the city. Living with Monica gave Rachel a new lease of life on Friends.
Monica's friends became Rachel's friends, two of which she dated. She started dating as soon as she settled into her new life, and her love life certainly got interesting. Here are the worst of her dates on the show.
12 Michael
Monica had set up Rachel on a date with a fresh divorcee, Michael. Michael was nervous about this date and as for Rachel, she just wasn't in the right frame of mind. Earlier at the coffee shop, she'd heard Ross and Julie's plan of raising a pet cat together. Still not over Ross, Rachel left for her date visibly upset and preoccupied with a cat.
She behaved rather callously on the date. She asked Michael weird questions about the cat, how long do they live, has he ever bought a pet with a girlfriend, and so forth. The highlight of the date was Rachel getting hammered, borrowing a phone from a man nearby and leaving a closure message for Ross.
11 Josh
Rachel and Ross were at crossroads with each other after they broke up. They couldn't stop bickering with each other over the tiniest of things, let alone over romantic partners. Ross thought he had something going on with Amanda. Rachel picked up the first guy she met to make him jealous - enter Josh.
A college guy who played soccer would make someone like Ross jealous, who just organized games scheduled on his Commodore 64. Josh stole money from Rachel for the two times she saw him on that day.
10 Patrick
Chandler set Rachel up with his colleague right before Christmas. It had been a long time since she had a fling, so she wanted to be flung! Chandler knew a couple of guys at work, and the moment he told them about Rachel, they threw themselves at the opportunity.
Chandler picked Rachel for Patrick and told him Rachel was looking for a serious relationship. Upon knowing that, he ended things with her.
9 Joshua
Rachel's big night with Joshua didn't go as she'd hoped it would, thanks to Joshua's farm animal pet peeve. She'd gotten her hair colored, new sheets, fancy lingerie, and made Monica cook a fancy meal. Joshua got freaked out on seeing the chick and the duck at Rachel's apartment. Even when Rachel shooed them out of the apartment, Joshua couldn't stop freaking out. So they went to Joshua's parents' house for the night, thinking since the couple was away, they have some time to themselves.
That, of course, didn't happen, Joshua's parents cut their trip short, saw Rach dressed in a nighty and thought she was a hooker. The best part was when the waiter spilled water down Rachel's back, she jumped up and her dress slipped.
8 Barry
No one knew what was going in Rachel's head when she started seeing Barry again. It was the same Barry she'd left at the altar. Rachel felt familiar and comfortable seeing Barry, he didn't even act like an Orthodontist guy. One particular day, Rach and Barry ended up fooling around in his clinic. The group tried to talk her out of seeing him, Monica made the most sense. Barry now was engaged to another woman who happened to be Rachel's ex-best friend.
Later in the day, Mindy came to see Rachel and told her she suspected Barry had been seeing another woman in the city. Turns out when Barry proposed to Rachel, he'd been seeing Mindy. Thankfully at the end of the day, Rachel knew she'd made the good choice by leaving Barry.
7 Joey
Joey and Rachel's romance was downright cringy and creepy. Thank heavens it ended soon before it could give us major creeps. Their first kiss in Barbados was bad too, none of them could stop imagining Ross' face in each other. Joey and Rachel's in-apartment date didn't go well. The writers ran out of creative ideas when they decided to pair the two of them together.
On their date, Rachel kept slapping Joey every time he touches him. She then got a little too excited and hit him where it hurt the most. The two agreed to stay just friends afterward. And that's how it should be.
6 Kash
Rachel and Kash met twice, the first time Kash was charmed with Rachel. The second time, however, didn't go as well. Kash Ford was Joey's co-star who Rachel seemed besotted with. On the date, Kash picked up Rachel from her apartment, took her on a ferry ride. It wasn't the right time, Rachel was pregnant with Ross' child and she told him so. Kash got all weird and sputtery and said, "I hear those hemorrhoids are a b***h."
Rachel was alone on the street at night with $15 worth of candy bars.
5 Paul
Paul was Elizabeth's father. Elizabeth was Ross's student and his date. Obviously Paul hated Ross's guts, so latter sent Rachel as his ambassador to him.
Rachel and Paul meanwhile started their own thing on the side. But this one date, Rachel pushed Paul towards the brink of an emotional breakdown. She practically forced him to open up to him, and when he did, he couldn't stop crying. She dumped the cry baby soon after.
4 Tommy
Tommy became another one of those guys Rachel dated to make Ross jealous. Naturally, he was no good. By that we mean he couldn't stop screaming, old men and chicken included. Unfortunately, Ross was the first one to see what a whack job Tommy was. So no one believed him.
Thankfully everyone heard him scream at the chick and the duck across the hall. He called the duck as dumb, Donald dodo. Step away from the duck and leave, Tommy.
3 Danny, The Yeti
Danny just moved in the same building as Rachel. She fogged him when she saw him in the building basement looking for a waffle iron. You couldn't blame her, he was unshaven with a bushy beard.
Rachel and Danny played the verbal volleyball very well till they actually went out on dates. But there was something odd about him, he was insanely close with his sister. At the coffee house, Dany tasted things off his sister's fingers, cleaned dessert off his crotch area and rushed upstairs to take off the pants. All this while Rachel, Joey, Chandler, and Monica were seated together! Thankfully, Rachel skipped the date after the prelude.
2 Paolo
Rachel and Paolo dated briefly, she thought they were way past the fling. She was feeling things she'd only read about in Daniel Steel's books. That was until Paolo made a pass at Phoebe at her massage parlor. Phoebe chose to tell Rachel right before she took off for the first weekend together with Paolo.
She was obviously disturbed by Phoebe's confession, ended apologizing to her. When Paolo arrived at her place, she threw his clothes off the balcony and he left with an empty suitcase.
1 Steve
Phoebe set up Rachel with this guy she used to massage. By massage, she means to hold down so that he wouldn't turn over and flash her. Phoebe did that so Ross and Rachel could see what they have together.
The guy couldn't stop giving her the creeps and he talked funny on the date, and she started nervously laughing. He'd lost his restaurant to drugs. He had no money, he wasn't funny and he lived in a studio apartment with two other guys, and he was pretty sure he was infertile. Rachel herself called it the worst date ever.
