Venom 2 Set Photos Feature Tom Hardy And Woody Harrelson

Set photos from the filming of Venom 2 have arrived, reuniting Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson. The sequel to the 2018 film is currently in production with Andy Serkis at the helm. Venom is a hit despite negative reviews, making over $800 million worldwide.

Little has been shared on the storyline for Venom 2. Technically, the film doesn't have an official release date, though many assume the October 2020 date set by Sony for an untitled Marvel movie is when it's coming. One report states that Ravencroft will be a factor in Venom 2. That does make sense, considering the close ties Cletus Kasady has with the infamous institution. Kasady appeared in the mid-credits of Venom, implying Carnage would be the antagonist in the sequel. In a video taken from the Venom 2 set, Harrelson seems to be using symbiote abilities as a cop shoots at him. Venom 2 is looking to bring Carnage into the world of cinema; something fans have been wanting to see since the days of Spider-Man 3. Although no official footage from the film has been released, set photos continue to arrive.

Photographer Greg Williams has posted a couple of new photos from the set of Venom 2. One of them reunites Hardy and Harrelson. There's no symbiote action here, but fans will no doubt enjoy seeing the two together. Check out the photos below.

Fans are likely speculating what Harrelson will bring to the table as the insane Cletus Kasady/Carnage. The character has a long history in the comics and plenty of fans. Based on his brief, but memorable, appearance in the previous movie, the character appears to be in good hands. Venom was not universally liked by fans, but Venom and Carnage appearing together (as Hardy teases) is something most, if not all, will probably want to see.

Past Cletus Kasady, there's also the lingering question if Venom 2 will feature any MCU references or even a cameo from Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Sony began hinting at MCU connections recently with Morbius and a newspaper clipping mentioning vampires and Kasady. Big things appear to be in the works, but technically not much is confirmed.

For now, fans will have to wait and see how the Spider-Man connections play out when Morbius hits theaters in July 2020. As for Venom 2, with no official announcement confirming the release, fans can only hope Sony still plans to release it in October. If so, a Venom and Carnage showdown could be one of the highlights of 2020 for moviegoers everywhere.
