Hunters: 10 Best Episodes, Ranked (According to IMDb)

What if Nazi's escaped after World War II and infiltrated the United States. The Amazon Prime show, Hunters, is inspired by real-life Nazi hunters who sought justice for the heinous crimes done to millions of Jewish people tied in with real-life history.

The show is based on a diverse group of skilled individuals who were brought together to become Nazi hunters by a rich Holocaust survivor. They discover that the surviving Nazi's in the United States want to continue their work and bring about the Fourth Reich. With Al Pacino playing one of the lead roles, the show has generated some buzz and IMDb has ranked the shows first season's episodes. Careful, there are some mild spoilers ahead.

10 Eilu V' Eilu  (7.3)

The plot for the season finale of Hunters is a lot to take in. Mild spoiler warning if you haven't gotten through the show. If you have been watching the show so far, you would know that Meyer Offerman (Al Pacino) was involved in a car accident while abducting the leader of the Fourth Reich named the Colonel (Lena Olin). Meyer is saved by a member of his crew.

Jonah (Logan Lerman) takes it upon himself to continue his own investigation in locating The Wolf, the doctor who tortured Meyer and Ruth Heidelbaum (Jeannie Berlin) during their time at the camps.  As he investigates, he discovers a grave truth that would tear apart the group and force them in a new direction. The cliffhanger will have you gasp in shock as you meet an old enemy.

9 The Mourner's Kaddish (7.3)

In episode two, after the death of his grandmother, Jonah is taken under the wing of Meyer. Jonah has a unique ability to see the unseeable and cracks the toy maker's code. Jonah learns that his grandmother had a much bigger part in the Hunters than he realized.

All the while, FBI Agent Morris (Jerrika Hinton) takes the mysterious death of a NASA scientist but discovers she was hiding much more. She soon starts to tie together Nazi clues. The Hunters track down a new target who was known as Pied Piper, who was living as a record producer. They find a hidden room broadcasting a lullaby.

8 While Versions Of Safta Dance In His Head (7.4)

Following episode two, the Nazi's scheme starts to unravel as the Markowitzes (Saul Rubinek and Carol Kane) discover a hidden message encoded within the lullaby. The team learns that the Nazis are responsible for significant events in history and are planning another only two weeks away.

Jonah runs into a childhood friend and crush. As they catch up on his way for his shift at the comic shop, his friend Arthur "Bootyhole" McGuigan (Caleb Emery) is in danger. An American born Nazi, Travis (Greg Austin) was tracking down Jonah and visits the comic shop to find Bootyhole. Bootyhole decides to protect Jonah at the risk of his life.

7 At Night, All Birds Are Black (7.5)

Hunters use flashbacks to recount the stories of Meyer and Ruth during their time in the camps. In a flashback in episode five, Ruth declines The Wolf's offer to work with him. The Wolf is infatuated with her and decides to take it out on Meyer as a form of retaliation. In the present time, the Hunters split into two groups to track down different targets.

Meyer, Roxy (Tiffany Boone) and Lonny Flash (Josh Radnor) hunt down a Nazi filmmaker who now poses as a political consultant. Jonah, Joe (Louis Ozawa) and Sister Harriet (Kate Mulvany) pursue a Nazi doctor and discover more are in attendance. Sister Harriet takes things into her own hands.

6 (Ruth 1:16) (7.5)

Episode six will have you in tears withing minutes of the episodes start. The Markowitzes prepare for their daughter's wedding but Murray can't help but remember the past. He recounts the day they were taken to the camps with their young son. In an effort to keep his family together, an officer murders their son. The episode also gives audiences a look into Sister Harriett's past. When she was a young girl she was sent away to a convent to hide away during the war.

Sister Harriet arrives at the wedding and informs the Hunters on why she steered away from their original plan. Agent Morris is attacked for her close involvement in the Nazi cause, while Travis breaks into Meyer's home and burns their files.

5  The Jewish Question (7.6)

Episode eight brings in some loose strings while dealing with the hard emotions of death. Meyer reveals to Jonah why he and Ruth never married and tells him a story from their time in the camps. In order to save Ruth, Meyer had to force himself to become a monster.

Mindy Markowitz shows mercy in killing the man who murdered her son. She deals with the sadness of losing Murray and learning he wanted a Jewish funeral, despite him being an atheist. The hunters continue the hunt and track down and Nazi scientist posing as a NASA scientist, Wernher Von Braun.

4 The Great Old Nazi Cookout Of '77 (7.6)

Audiences are given a recap on why Nazis were brought to America by the United States government. In an effort to hinder USSR recruitment for its space program, the U.S. decided to use their enemies. Having learned the plot of the Fourth Reich, the Hunters attack their bunker and carry out their plan to stop them.

As chaos ensues, Jonah tries to capture Travis but Agent Morris thwarts his attempt and arrests Travis instead. Meyer carries out his own plan and kidnaps the Colonel and in an effort to escape, she causes Meyer to crash into the river.

3 The Pious Thieves (7.7)

While tracking down a lead, the Hunters find the stolen artifacts of their people. In an elaborate scheme to infiltrate a New Jersey bank, they find out that it was hiding much more than money. The Hunters are riddled with emotions as they discover an underground collection of the precious items stolen from Jewish people before their internment.

Jonah finds various letters written by Ruth recounting the beginning of her affection for Meyer. In flashbacks of her first day of internment, she meets Meyer who tattoos the number that will stay with her forever. They both start to develop feelings for one another as time goes on.

2 Shalom Motherf***er (7.8)

In episode seven, audiences will have their heartbroken as the team suffers a great deal and learn new truths. Meyer admits to being who Jonah suspected him to be after putting together clues. Agent Morris, despite knowing the truth about Nazis, wishes to hold Meyer accountable for murder.

Jonah uncovers the last secret code in the lullaby. he Hunters learn that the Fourth Reich wants to bring in a shipment of a biological weapon. In order to do so, they must create a diversion that will cost a member of the Hunters life.

1 In The Belly Of The Whale (7.9)

Taking the highest ranking by IMDb is the show's first episode. Jonah has a tough time going through life and things turn for the worst as he witnesses his grandmother's murder. He vows to seek revenge. While sitting Shiva for Ruth, he meets Meyer. In another state, a NASA scientist is killed in her shower. Coincidently, the U.S. undersecretary, Biff (Dylan Baker) hosts a barbeque until a guest has a breakdown after recognizing him. This forces him to take action and perform a cover-up.

Jonah visits Meyer and puts together clues and find Ruth's killer. He tracks a toymaker and seeks justice but loses the upper hand. Meyer comes to his rescue.
