Frozen has gone down in history as one of Disney's greatest ever movies and has proven to be incredibly popular, to the point where the company created a sequel, which is fairly rare for Disney classic animations. However, one of the reasons for its success was because of the characters and their incredible personalities.
Every single character brought something unique to the movie, whether they were the lead roles or just supporting characters. They had different personalities different traits, likes and dislikes and also varying levels of intelligence, which helped make the characters more relatable.
Within this list, we will take a look at the characters from Disney's Frozen and rank them purely based on their intelligence, determining once and for all who the smartest character of this icy world is.
10 Marshmallow
When it comes to the least intelligent character in the Frozen world it is Marshmallow who takes the wooden spoon. The character is an ice and snow monster that is created by Else in order to stop people from coming into her Ice Mountain and he offers little else outside of that.
The character is simply just a big angry monster that serves its purpose and is quickly dealt with. Marshmallow doesn't exactly get the chance to prove whether or not he has great intelligence, but in terms of providing scares and fear, he certainly excels in that department.
9 Oaken
Much like Marshmallow, Oaken is only a supporting character in Frozen who doesn't get too much screentime in order to showcase his intelligence. He's certainly full of life and personality, and he seems like a kind enough character.
Anyone who owns their own shop has to have some levels of intelligence, yet at the same time, it isn't exactly well-stocked for the weather that is taking place. Although in his defence, the snowstorm does come out of nowhere due to Elsa's powers.
8 Olaf
Olaf has quickly become one of the most popular characters in Disney history, but he certainly isn't one of the brightest. Olaf just sees everything from a very basic point of view and is fairly childlike in his personality, which is one of the reasons he is so funny.
What he lacks in intelligence Olaf certainly makes up for in heart and kindness. He is one of the most loving and caring characters in Disney history which is why he is so popular with fans and how he ended up being the star of the franchise.
7 Sven
While it might seem ridiculous that Sven could be smarter than Olaf considering the fact he doesn't talk, he most certainly is. Sven is someone who doesn't like putting up with everyone being stupid, and the reindeer has no problem in showcasing his displeasure with people through facial expressions.
It is through his expressions that Sven really showcases his intelligence which makes him such a great character. He is tons of fun and is always there for the group when needed, which proves another sign of his intelligence.
6 Duke Of Weselton
He might not be a very nice person, but the Duke Of Weselton is certainly a smart one. He has gotten himself into a position of power for a reason, and there has to be a level of smartness to make that happen. However, he isn't really shown enough in the movie to really prove his true brains.
Because of that, it's hard to rank him too high on the list, but he does manage to pull off a very sneaky mission within the kingdom, so he certainly has managed to showcase some intelligence.
5 Kristoff
He might be an incredibly lovely, kind, and caring person, Kristoff isn't exactly the smartest. Perhaps the fact that he has grown up surrounded by trolls and a reindeer didn't help him build up a brilliant intelligence, despite the trolls being very smart.
Kristoff's intelligence mainly comes through his creativity and physical moments, which he certainly proves throughout the two movies. However, when it comes to straight brains, he isn't quite at the same level as some other characters.
4 Elsa
Of course, people might instantly think that Elsa is the most intelligent character in Frozen simply because she is the most well-known character. She is the one who has the incredible magical powers, and while it certainly takes intelligence to create what she does and control her powers, there are parts of her who aren't as smart.
In terms of her actual intelligence as a human, outside of her character, Elsa is often quite stubborn and doesn't always think about the impact of her actions. However, she is still one of the smartest characters within this franchise.
3 Anna
Throughout the Frozen franchise, we get to see Anna really develop and grow in terms of both her personality and her intelligence. While she is certainly full of love and kindness, Anna is also a very smart character who is able to be a great problem solver.
She is brave and loyal and is someone who puts herself in the centre of the danger if she needs to. While she is a little impulsive and often acts before she thinks when she gets herself in a tough situation more often than not Anna is able to think of a way out.
2 Hans
While he might actually be the villain of the original Frozen film, there's no doubt that he's incredibly intelligent. His real purpose and plot is something that really is an incredibly well-kept secret that created one of the greatest twists in Disney history.
It is through that twist that Hans showcases his incredible intelligence. He fools everyone into thinking he is a truly nice guy when in actual fact that couldn't be further from the truth. That showcases just how talented and smart he is overall, being ahead of the curve to trick everybody.
1 The Trolls
When it comes to Frozen's smartest characters, Kristoff's unconventional family of trolls certainly take the top spot. They're incredibly wise characters who know all about the lore and magic that the world has, with these characters being the answer to many of Elsa's problems over the two movies.
While they might only be supporting characters within the film, whenever they appear they certainly show that their intelligence is way ahead of all the other characters. This is mainly because they have been around for so long that they have gained plenty of knowledge, which makes them such great characters.
