KUWTK's Scott Disick Plans to Sue Rehab for Leaking Photo, Facility Speaks Out

Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, Scott Disick has been going through a lot recently. During the most recent episode of the show, Scott discussed his parents' death and how he is struggling to cope with his grief years later. Although that episode was filmed months ago, that significant loss has been on his mind lately, especially during the coronavirus lockdown. The stay-at-home order has given Scott more time alone with his thoughts and, as a result, that pain from his parents' passing has resurfaced in the forefront of his mind. In response, Scott ended up checking himself into a Colorado rehab facility.

Unfortunately, Scott wasn't able to seek treatment in private. Instead, someone leaked a photo of him during a group therapy session and claimed that he was at the facility to deal with "cocaine and alcohol abuse." However, Scott's lawyer spoke out on his behalf, insisting that wasn't the case and that he was actually at the facility to cope with his emotions surrounding his parents' deaths. As soon as the news leaked, Scott checked out of the facility. Additionally, it was reported that Scott's longtime girlfriend Sofia Richie noticed changes in his demeanor and shared her concerns with Kourtney Kardashian, Scott's ex-girlfriend and the mother to his three children. Reportedly, Kourtney had the same concerns and came to Scott with an ultimatum about getting help if he wanted to see their children.

Now, Scott is planning on suing All Points North Lodge, a Colorado rehab center, for this breach of privacy. His lawyer Marty Singer told TMZ, "In an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain that Scott has been silently suffering for many years due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father 3 months later, Scott made the decision to check himself into a rehab facility last week to work on his past traumas." He referred to the photo as "an outrageous HIPAA violation." He also believes that the photo was taken by a staff member, which could lead to a criminal case.

Noah Nordheimer, the CEO of the rehab facility addressed the controversy with TMZ as well. He doesn't know who took the photo or leaked it and claimed that the rehab would take legal action when that person is identified. The CEO insisted, "The protection of our clients' personal and confidential information is of the utmost importance to us." He claims that he and the rest of the team is "sickened by any publication who would report on an individual’s life struggles without their consent."

Scott has been brave enough to admit that he is struggling and ask for help. The last thing he needed was another problem on top of the issues he has been facing. His privacy was violated when it became public knowledge that he checked into rehab. Not only that, but lies have been told about why he was in the facility to begin with. He thought that he was at in a safe place with competent staff members that he could trust, but, clearly, that was not the case. The breach of privacy is both immoral and illegal. Fingers crossed that the authorities will be able to determine who is responsible for leaking the photo and the false information and punish them appropriately. And, most importantly, let's hope the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has found another, more reliable, resource to help him during this tough time.
