With the end of The Clone Wars in its superb seventh season, the last of the Skywalker saga, and the end of content for Battlefront II, a new chapter of Star Wars is upon us in which we start to get more information on the future of the franchise, and the content it will produce. Yet, there is nothing confirmed on an animated front.
While The Mandalorian season two, as well as a few other Disney+ shows, are confirmed alongside Taiki Waititi's Star Wars movie, there are only rumors about what could get explored in the next of the animated shows.
10 Darth Vader
Darth Vader's appearance at the end of "Victory and Death" was a somber affair, and one of the most heartbreaking appearances ever from the iconic villain.
There is content about Vader after the events of The Clone Wars in the form of books, comics, and appearances in other media. However, seeing Vader in animation again, perhaps filling in the meaning of the Convor and what he does with Ahsoka's lightsaber as well as dealing with the Inquisitors, would be amazing.
9 Doctor Aphra
Doctor Aphra is a character who needs to make the transition from paper to screen, preferably sooner rather than later.
Her comics are great, and in animation, it would be an immensely fun series of exploratory adventures that would be akin to Indiana Jones in animation in Star Wars.
8 Post-Rise Of Skywalker
The Rise Of Skywalker may have ended the Skywalker saga, but it left a lot of questions about the future of the Galaxy, as well as a lot of questions presented in the sequel trilogy.
An animated series set after the movie could follow the heroes with Rey training future Jedi, including Finn, a new republic getting built, and a Galaxy trying to find peace again.
7 Untold Clone Wars Stories
This would be less of a show and more of a variety piece of content. Nevertheless, Disney+ is the perfect outlet to create and tell unfinished stories like these and release them as a sort of playlist.
Seeing Dark Disciple and Son Of Dathomir in their intended forms of animation would be great to go alongside their respective pieces of content. The Clone Wars has had a good few untold stories over the years, and they could find their way to Disney+.
6 The High Republic
The High Republic content is fast approaching, and from what we know so far, this is a long term project. Therefore, it is hard to imagine there is not some sort of show in development.
An animated show which coincided with the books and comics etc. would be smart, and with the track record of Star Wars television over the past decade-plus, it would likely be of the highest quality.
5 Ahsoka & Rex
Ahsoka and Rex had a beautiful yet devastating end in The Clone Wars, as their ship crashed, killing all the clones they had tried to spare despite them trying to kill the pair.
After burying them, the two set off in a ship, but to where, we do not know. The events of the Ahsoka novel take place a year after The Clone Wars, filling in that year, or even going beyond the novel and seeing the pair in the Galaxy would be great.
4 Solo Spin-Off/Maul & The Crimson Dawn
Maul is another character whose next move we are unaware of following The Clone Wars, but one has to assume it is to find the members of his crime organization whom he told to hide underground.
Solo may not have done great at the box office, but it deserves a spin-off of sorts, and following Maul and the Crimson Dawn's rise and even fall would make for fantastic viewing.
3 Surviving Clones
One thing that never got wrapped up in The Clone Wars' final season was Wolffe and Gregor and how they managed to remove their chips, if they took part in Order 66, how they met up, and how they met with Rex.
Seeing this explored at some point is a must, and in an animated television form would even better. Alongside that, things like the Bad Batch and Cut Lukwayne and what they did when Order 66 was given should be explored. It could even dive into the clones like Cody, who had to adjust with the Empire.
2 Luke Skywalker's Adventures
We know that following Return Of The Jedi, Luke waited a long time before starting his own Academy. He was busy exploring the Galaxy, and unlocking secrets of the Jedi, the Sith, the Force, and collecting artifacts.
This would be fantastic to see, and with Mark Hamill officially retired as Luke Skywalker, as well as a series of complicated planets and artifacts, an animation may be the best way to go.
1 Rebels Follow Up
Ahsoka and Sabine Wren's search for Ezra Bridger is a show that we all know is coming, and we are all excited about it, but it is just a matter of when.
Rumors are floating around about the two being in The Mandalorian to lead into this show, and that is a pretty great idea all around. Seeing older Ahsoka, a more mature Sabine search for an Ezra, and likely a Thrawn, who may have been through a lot, is exciting.
