Survivor: 10 Winners That We Wish Were Cast In Winners At War

Survivor's 40th season is almost at an end. With 20 winners returning for war, it's only a matter of time before someone becomes the ultimate Sole Survivor. While fans were certainly pleased with many of the castaways that returned, there are 39 seasons with winners, leaving many that didn't get the chance to reappear.

Whether fans are rooting for Tony or Michele or a castaway on extinction, this season might just have been totally different if other players had returned instead. For huge fans of the show out there, here are 10 winners that we wish would have returned for this iconic season.

10 Jenna Morasca

This player won her first season, season 6, for Survivor: The Amazon. She was the youngest player at the time to ever do so. She later returned for the All-Stars season, where she left early because of her mother's medical condition.

This player definitely could have competed on the newest season, and even proved her strength on The Amazing Race in 2011, with, shockingly, fellow player Ethan Zohn.

9 Chris Daugherty

This player was the Sole Survivor of Survivor: Vanuatu. He was the last man standing in his season by day 27, but continued to play an incredibly strategic game.

His final tribal council speech is known as one of the most impressive ever seen, and he managed to apologize for his manipulative strategy and take home the title. This undermining player certainly would have made season 40 more interesting.

8 Tom Westman

This castaway won season 10 of the show, in Survivor: Palau. Winning in a 6-1 vote at the final tribal, Tom proved that he had what it takes to go down as one of the best male players to ever be on the island.

He's a smart and social guy, and won a total of 5 individual immunity wins in his season. This player certainly deserved the crown, and was a fan favorite.

7 Aras Baskauskas

This player played on Survivor: Panama, where he got his win, but also played later on Survivor: Blood s. Water. This manipulative and intelligent player certainly shocked fans, and would have made for an interesting dynamic to season 40.

This castaway may be a lesser-known winner, but fans have seen him play twice, and there was never a dull moment with this strategic man on the island.

6 James "J.T." Thomas Jr.

This castaway might just forever be known as one of the best there is. With social, strategic, and challenge skills, this player won the final tribal council vote in a clean sweep for Survivor: Tocantins.

He's played two other times since, but couldn't quite make his way to the end. Still, fans would have loved to see this player return for a fourth time around.

5 Jud "Fabio" Birza

Fabio is a household name on Survivor, and won season 21, Survivor: Nicaragua, against Chase Rice in a 5-4 split. At age 21, Fabio was the youngest player to ever win the title of Sole Survivor.

This challenge beast and free-spirited player immediately became loved by fans and his fellow tribe members. He certainly would have provided some hilarity on season 40.

4 John Cochran

This player is one of the most popular icons from this show. He won his second season, Survivor: Caramoan, in a clean sweep after playing one of the best strategic and social games ever seen on the island.

This quirky and lovable castaway has even returned as a mentor, and is certainly a legend of this show. Fans will always be behind Cochran, and definitely missed him for this winners' season.

3 Mike Holloway

Mike is known as having one of the most impressive finishes on the series to date. He won season 30, Survivor: Worlds Apart, and spent most of the season as public enemy #1. However, Mike won FIVE out of the final SIX immunity challenges, and played his idol for the other.

Despite their best efforts to vote him out, his fellow tribe members and jurors couldn't help but give him the win. This beast was the underdog we all loved.

2 Chris Underwood

This player was an interesting case, and actually proved that a castaway could come back from the Edge of Extinction and win it all. Chris was voted out on day 6 before he returned in the final five.

He played a perfect end game, and won the final vote in a 9-4 split. It would have been interesting for this hero of the Edge to return for another go. Plus, he was certainly a fan favorite.

1 Tommy Sheehan

There was no real chance at this player, the most recent winner, to return to season 40 due to the filming times. However, this winner of Survivor: Island of the Idols probably would have loved to play a different game and still prove himself.

He won the final vote in an 8-2 split. Since Sandra Diaz-Twine and Rob Mariano were mentors of the season, it would have been entertaining to see him battle it out with the best.
