10 Things That Annoy Office Fans, According To Reddit

The show The Office has won 5 Primetime Emmys, two SAAG Awards, and Steve Carell won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Michael Scott. It’s hands down one of the most talked-about comedies of our time due to the fantastic writers and actors doing their part.

The mockumentary wrapped up back in 2013 but fans can't stop streaming the series again and again on Netflix. However, not every fan of The Office has the same opinions of the characters or storylines. To see 10 things that annoy Office fans, keep scrolling!

10 Dunder Mifflin Is Totaly Over-Staffed

Considering Dunder Mifflin talked about downsizing multiple times and closed branches that weren’t producing, it does seem a little odd that Scranton remained fully-staffed. In fact, this fan thinks they’re over-staffed.

Scranton really didn’t need three accountants (sorry, Kevin), both quality assurance and customer service manager, and later, an office manager (remember when Palm made up the position?). They could have saved money if they got rid of Kevin, Creed, and even Meredith.

9 Who Started At Dunder Mifflin First, Jim Or Pam?

In the first episode of The Office, fans learn that Jim and Pam are best friends who are totally crushing on each other. What bothers one fan, however, is not knowing who started at Dunder Mifflin first, Jim or Pam?

The annoyed fan notes that in “The Secret,” Jim makes a comment about liking her “when she first started.” But two seasons later, Jim explained he liked her right away when she showed him desk on his first day and warned him about Dwight. So which is it!?

8 Pam & Kevin Are Totally Different By Season Nine

The beauty of longer seasons is character development. Fans learn more about the characters and can see how much they’ve grown and changed since season one.

With that being said, not all character development is good. One fan explained how much they disliked Pam and Kevin in later seasons. They’re completely different than when we first met them. Kevin seemed to lose a few brain cells, and Pam was definitely more outspoken and brave.

7 There Was No Paternity Explanation

In the final season, everyone wanted to know the paternity of Phillip. All arrows pointed to Dwight as the father but Angela insisted he wasn’t.

When Dwight finally stole Phillip’s diaper to get a DNA test, Angela tried to stop him but he beat her to it. It didn’t matter anyway, though, because the DNA test came bag negative. But if it was negative, how was he miraculously the father at the end of the season? One fan responded to the thread and said Dwight took the wrong baby’s diaper from the garbage, proving that he very well could have been Angela’s baby daddy.

6 Erin & Pete Deserve Happiness

When Andy came back from his three-month boat trip, he expected things to be great between him and Erin; but they were anything but. Erin broke up with him and started dating  Pete soon after. She was tired of waiting around for Andy.

What bothered one fan is never having closure on this relationship. He didn’t even go to Dwight and Angela’s wedding with her. If Erin had a talking head about having her parents back in her life, a cute boyfriend named Pete, and a job she liked, that would have satisfied fans' eagerness for more information.

5 Did The Cameramen Not Care About Michael's Wellbeing?

As a mockumentary, those at Dunder Mifflin were being filmed for a documentary for PBS. There were mics and cameras all over the place, catching every moment. With cameramen following them closely for years, one fan thinks they didn’t care about Michael’s wellbeing.

When Michael is trying to prove to the warehouse staff that office life can lead to depression, he threatens to jump off the roof. Sadly, there’s both a camera up on the roof with him and on the ground, and neither tried to stop him. They just kept filming.

4 Andy Got Worse And Worse

Fans and Office haters can all agree that Andy was on a downward spiral towards the end of the series. He went from someone who was great at his job, loved sales and theatrics, and was super likable to someone no one could stand.

He became selfish, dramatic, and didn’t care about his duties in Scranton anymore, which also played into his friendships. It was disappointing to see such a loved character fall apart.

3 Why Did Pam's Mom Change?

We first meet Pam’s mom when she stopped by the office to visit Pam for the day. Pam couldn’t say enough nice things about her mom in that time period.

But if we fast forward to her wedding to Jim, her mom is rude, cold, and a different actress! While this brief character change goes unnoticed by some, it sure did annoy one fan. How did Pam and her mom's relationship get so callus?

2 Was Erin Worse Than Kevin?

Kevin Malone started out quiet but seemingly intelligent. As seasons went on, though, he became more and more outspoken and, well, dumber.

Likewise, Erin also had her ditzy moments and didn’t understand many things (like the disposable camera). She was like a little girl trapped in an adult's body. But one fan thinks Erin’s common sense got worse as the show went on. They even think she became worse than Kevin!

1 Was Roy Abusive?

One fan really did not like how physical Roy was. He got too rough in the basketball game, he tried to punch Jim, and then he started throwing bottles and chairs when Pam told him she kissed Jim. Due to his aggressive outbursts, one fan thinks Roy could have had an abusive streak up his sleeve that’s not talked about.

Was this how he acted in arguments with Pam or was this a one-time occurrence since it dealt with Jim? Regardless of how he acted with Pam, he appeared to get his life together in later seasons after getting married and starting his own business.
