VPR: Faith Thinks It's Unfair Jax Wasn't Also Fired From Show

Since Bravo fired four Vanderpump Rules cast members on Tuesday, Jax Taylor’s dismissal has been called for as well. Amid the Black Lives Matter resurgence, Jax's old tweets and comments have been brought up as proof of his racial insensitivity. Faith Stowers thinks it's "unfair" that he's kept his role on the show.

On Tuesday, Bravo announced the firing of longtime cast members Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute over a racist prank against their former co-star Faith Stowers. Faith was the only minority in an all-white cast. In one fell swoop, the network also fired Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni for racist tweets. In a post on Instagram, Bravo announced: “Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules.

Faith told Us Weekly, “I just think it’s not fair to have two people who are very big on their platform, and benefit from the platform, go through something like this for their benefit and everyone else’s benefit because they’re benefiting by being able to take time to themselves and learn, educate themselves.” On an upcoming episode of the Watch With Us podcast, she said, “I think there are other people that should be educated as well because they’ve made some pretty crazy mistakes and said some crazy — not even mistakes. They just said some terrible things.”

Stowers then focused on Jax specifically: “I didn’t even know the depth of the crazy things that they were saying. And so like, I got DMs from other shows, from other females on other shows saying that Mr. Taylor had said some crazy things to them that were racial.” She said, “So I think he gets a pat on the back a lot. But I think that if you’re going to do it for two people, they should do it for some other people as well.”

Jax, who cheated on his now-wife Brittany Cartwright with Faith, also accused her of grand theft auto and predicted her incarceration in a 2017 tweet when a follower asked him if she would be a permanent cast member on the show. He said, "She’s wanted by the police for grand theft auto and 'awol' from [the] military, bad idea to be on a reality show dude." He then tweeted "Someone’s going to jail." Ironically, the following year, Jax was arrested on camera in Honolulu after authorities caught him stealing a pair of sunglasses.

Only time will tell if Jax (and the rest of the cast of Vanderpump Rules, at this rate) will stay around for a ninth season. However, many fans think it's unlikely that they will be able to continue on.
