Will Bravo hold Southern Charm stars accountable for racism? At this rate, the network will have no shows to air as they are making drastic cuts.
Fans have always known that the southern-based show was full of over the top drama. First with Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel, and now Ashley Jacobs. There was never a dull moment, but it would seem that the drama has become a bit too real as some of the cast have decided to quit the show over rumors that have run amuck. Fans are now left wondering who will be left to watch on the new season. The popular franchise had been on hiatus for some time now and fans were worried that the show may be canceled, the cast members have confirmed the show is back and ready for action as of now.
The Bravo universe is going through a big change as the network decided to clean house over the weekend thanks to four cast members of Vanderpump Rules, Stassi Schroeder, Kristen, Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni. Since the Black Lives Matter movement has started, the reality TV world has been turned upside down as networks have made the decision to no longer stand for racist behaviors. Die-hard fans of Southern Charm are very much wondering if their cast will be the next show to be held accountable for their actions. Back in May, Kathryn Dennis had to release an apology to radio host Tamika Gadsden after an argument on social media took a turn and Dennis ended up sending the monkey emoji.
Jenna King, who was a cast member during season one, often was caught using the n-word in multiple social media posts. Also, during an earlier season Thomas Ravenel, who was never the picture of perfection was caught having a conversation with his father where he expressed his views for defending the right to fly the Confederate flag as the South Carolina Statehouse. T-Rav himself has also made many ignorant comments on his social media such as the time he entered a Mexican restaurant and tweeted “Hopefully, it'll be a true Mexican restaurant with a few Mexican workers who aren't afraid to work."
Before the current season has even started the popular ladies, which included Cameron Eubanks, Naomi Olindo, and Chelsea Meissner all made the decision to quit the show. It seemed Eubanks was the victim of a nasty rumor regarding her marriage that looked to be started by Dennis. The rest of the women quit as a form of solidarity. The show may be wearing out its welcome and it is a promise fans will be paying much closer attention to how the cast represents themselves.
