Sister, Sister is on Netflix starting September 1, 2020. The beloved sitcom began as part of the classic ABC TGIF lineup. It then moved to the WB for its last four seasons. The series was a fan favorite as an original back in the 1990s and also in the 2000s when it reran on Disney Channel.
Fans could not be more excited to relive their favorite moments with Tia and Tamera Mowry. The stars are each now married with beautiful children, and they're just as busy as ever with their work. Take the opportunity to celebrate Sister, Sister with these ten fabulous episodes.
10 Season 5: "Designer Genes" - 4.7
Though it didn't get the highest rating, the season five opener is so good. Lisa is working persistently at her fashion career and attempts to get her portfolio to a high-profile designer for a benefit show. Tia and Tamera sneak backstage at the show and stun the crowd as models. Their sleek 1997 outfits are sure to remind viewers of the final intro music for the series.
9 Season 4: "Sis Boom Bah" - 5.4
The fifth episode of season four is one of the best ever. Tia and Tamera take a leap and decide to try out for the cheerleading team at school. They bring their spunky selves to try-outs and give it their best effort, but the twins prove to be mildly uncoordinated. When it's time for the results, Tamera and Tia are on "the C squad" and do not get into the main group.
Ray is a rockstar dad here and gives the girls and their squad some training. By the end of their episode, the C squad is the top squad, with fabulous uniforms and even better dance moves.
8 Season 3: "The Audition"- 5.7
The third season finale goes out on a fun note. Casey Kasem is an alum of the twins' high school, so he returns to dedicate its performing arts center. A talent show takes place to find the perfect student to perform for the dedication. The audition montage is one of the finest, featuring some feel-good 90s hits that fans won't want to miss.
7 Season 6: "My Father's House" - 5.8
By the later seasons, Tia and Tamera have found steady boyfriends in Tyreke and Jordan, respectively. Season six's ninth episode has a more serious tone but is worth the watch. Viewers see another side of Jordan when Tamera wants him to attend church with her. While Lisa is feverishly sewing choir robes, Jordan slowly reveals that he has a complicated past and relationship with religion. He and Tamera are able to find a healthy way to discuss the issue, and Jordan gives Sunday another try.
6 Season 5: "Child's Play" - 5.9
The sixth episode of season five is a real gem. Tahj Mowry appears as TJ Henderson, his character from Smart Guy. The twins desperately need some help to buckle down and prepare for the SAT. It turns out that buckling down is the opposite of what they need.
TJ helps Tia, Tamera, and friend Diavian relax so that studying comes naturally to them. As a boy genius, TJ didn't get to "be a kid" as much as he would like and candidly shares that with the older girls.
5 Season 2: "Get A Job" - 6.4
This season two episode (second of the season) is the twins' first time working at Rocket Burger. The only problem is, Ray gets them jobs at his limousine service, too. They hilariously juggle both gigs until the bottom falls out. Meanwhile, Lisa hangs out with Cousin Tahj, played by none other than the twins' real-life brother, Tahj Mowry. Tahj would appear in later episodes as TJ Henderson, his character from Smart Guy.
4 Season 2: "Operation: Deja Vu" - 6.5
The seventh episode of season two, "Operation: Deja Vu," is critically important to the rest of the series. Tamera and Tia both have appendicitis and are rushed to the hospital. While there, they learn that they are in the hospital of their birth. This sparks the twins' idea to search through hospital files, and it piques their curiosity in the long-term over their biological parents.
3 Season 4: "Slime Party" - 7.0
One of the most priceless episodes of the 90s comedy is "Slime Party," episode 21 of the fourth season. The twins have a chance to show their skills on live television by competing in a quiz show. Their competitors are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, fresh off of Full House. Tia is the proclaimed brainiac of Tia and Tamera, but she learns that she has stage fright. On all the questions that would normally be a breeze for Tia, she totally freezes up. The Olsen twins actually start to feel bad for her. Then all of a sudden, Tamera soars to success with a popular culture category that includes a question about Coolio.
2 Season 6: "Fly Away Home"-7.1
"Fly Away Home" is the very last episode of Sister, Sister. It is sad knowing that it's the end of the series, but the story is completed in a satisfying way. It's Lisa Landry's wedding day, but she starts to have some doubts and runs out on Victor. While she chats with a friend at the bar, Ray finds Lisa and persuades her to return to the church and go through with the nuptials. Roger isn't going home this time--he gets to sing at the wedding after spending the final season away (since the twins were busy with college). Things come full circle when Ray, Lisa, Tamera, and Tia visit the department store where they first met.
1 Season 1: "The Meeting"-7.5
The very first episode of Sister, Sister is one of the most iconic. Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell are separated at birth, and each twin lives with an adoptive parent. Tia and her mom coincidentally go to the same department store in the Detroit area as Tamera and her dad. Their chance meeting leads them to a whole new life where they can get to know one another under one roof.
