Big Brother 22: Should Enzo Palumbo Have Used His POV?

Enzo Palumbo was the first person to hold the Power of Veto on Big Brother 22: All-Stars. But was his choice not to use this POV the right decision for him? Winning the first-ever POV competition of BB22 was certainly beneficial for Enzo in proving that he didn't come into this season to just joke around. With that said, the Head of Household of the week was Cody Calafiore, who is Enzo's biggest alliance in the game so far. The POV comp took place on Sunday, August 9. The selected players for the competition were HOH Cody, nominees Keesha and Kevin, and houseguests Enzo, Ian, and Tyler. In the end, Enzo came out victorious.

The fans have been urging CBS to redo the BB22 POV competition for a few days now. According to them, Keesha was doing well in the comp, but had to start over when Enzo's stack accidentally knocked over her progress. Nonetheless, the show moved forward and Enzo held the POV ceremony on Monday, August 10. In it, Enzo decided not to use the Power of Veto, leaving Cody's nominations as they were. But now that the decision is behind them, did Enzo really do the right thing?

On one hand, it is advantageous for Enzo to respect Cody's nominations and avoid getting any blood on his hands. There's also the fact that Enzo and Cody are very close allies on Big Brother 22, which means that it wasn't in Enzo's best interests to go against him. In fact, Enzo had been part of Cody's decision process to nominate these two people. However, not everything is this straightforward on Big Brother. The argument can be made that a much stronger player than Keesha or Kevin could have been backdoored this week. As allies, Cody and Enzo held the HOH and the POV of the week, which is not that easy to do. In addition, certain houseguests might start drawing some connections between Cody and Enzo if they never interfere in each other's decisions throughout the game.

All in all, it was probably the best call for Enzo not to use the Power of Veto this week. Even with the aforementioned risks attached to this decision, it was a good call for Enzo to just respect Cody's nominations and let the house decide whether they want to keep Keesha or Kevin around. However, Enzo and Cody must be careful not to show too much of their alliance, or they might be targeted just as much as Janelle and Kaysar are today.

In any case, it is still too early on BB22 for big power moves to be made. While it would've been beneficial to backdoor a stronger player during a week where Cody and Enzo held all the power, there's also a lot of risks associated with making a big swing on week one.
