Harry Potter is one of the most popular fantasy franchises, and franchises in general, of all times. First, a series of successful books then followed the eight movies. One of the reasons for Harry Potter's popularity is its fictional world which is full of beauty and imagination. Even when the heroes face mortal dangers, lose their loved ones, argue, have to fight, and do other things that aren't that pretty, the Harry Potter world remains magical.
A big part of it is the various magical spells and charm the writer J.K. Rowling came up with. Some of them are more practical in everyday life, others less. But the question that remains is which spells would be the best match for the practical, reliable, determined, and stubborn Tauruses.
10 Would Master: The Imperius Curse
The Imperius curse is one of the darkest curses in the Harry Potter world, and as such, it belongs among the three main unforgivable curses.
It gives the wizard power over the mind of the person on whom they use the curse. The wizards then can make the person do anything, including killing people or themselves. Tauruses would master the spell because it's all about subjugating at a person's will, and Tauruses are one of the Zodiac signs with the biggest strength of will.
9 Would Fail: The Tickling Spell
Tauruses aren't the funniest people in the world. That's not to say they don't have a sense of humor. They enjoy a good joke as much as the next person but their humor tends to be more subtle, sometimes a bit sarcastic, cynical, or even dark.
So the tickling spell - Rictusempra - while harmless might be a bit too frivolous and childish for the usually more serious Tauruses.
8 Would Master: Wingardium Leviosa
This spell played an important part in the first book and film of the series since it allowed the trio to defeat the troll who got into the castle.
To be able to do the spell right, one has to master the movement required and also the pronunciation. Ron struggled with this part, Hermione didn't, and Tauruses would have no trouble to learn the spell thanks to their natural patience.
7 Would Fail: Making Their Voices Louder
Wizards living in the world of Harry Potter have a lot of spells of various purposes. One of them is the Sonorus spell that makes the wizard's voice louder, such as the quidditch matches.
It can be used for public events where the person needs to address a large crowd of people but otherwise it doesn't have that much use. Least of all for Tauruses who don't like to draw too much attention to themselves and prefer a more subtle approach.
6 Would Master: Avada Kedavra
Tauruses aren't evil people by nature but they have the type of determination any wizard needs to be able to potentially commit terrible deeds. One of such spells is the deadliest spell of all - Avada Kedavra - that kills the person aimed at. But not everybody can find the inner strength to summon the spell and use it against a fellow human being.
If anybody could pull it off, it would be a properly stubborn and determined Taurus.
5 Would Fail: Accio
As Harry Potter fans will be well aware of, Accio is the summoning spell. It doesn't summon ghosts, though, it instead calls objects to their owner. So when somebody misplaces something, most usually, they can find the thing by using Accio and the object just flies out to them.
While useful, the spell wouldn't have much practical effect for Tauruses since they tend to remember where they put their stuff and like to be organized in life.
4 Would Master: Turn Into Stone
Turning someone or something into stone seems like a cool gimmick but to be honest, there are better defense/offense spells in the world of Harry Potter. Still, Tauruses could be inclined to learn how to master this spell thanks to their own nature.
They can be as stubborn and hard to move from their path as - you guessed it - stones, so it would be appropriate for them to use the spell called Duro against others.
3 Would Fail: Riddikulus
Riddikulus is another spell that played a prominent part in the Harry Potter films. Remus Lupin teaches the class how to banish the Boggart - by using this spell that changes the Boggart into something that the wizard casting the spell finds funny.
The whole point of the spell is to fight fear but Tauruses tend to keep their emotions in check and have better control over their fears, so it's doubtful whether they would need this spell in the first place.
2 Would Master: The Healing Spell
Imagine being in a situation when somebody nearby gets injured and requires assistance. Every person would react differently but the Tauruses would most likely keep their calm and just use this spell called Episkey.
The spell can't bring people from the dead or cure cancer and such, but it does heal small injuries - cuts, bruises, burns, etc. - so it would be the right kind of spell for the practical Tauruses.
1 Would Fail: The Dancing Spell
Similarly to Rictusempra, this spell might not sit well with Tauruses who like to take the world seriously. And if they want to find a way how to entertain others, be it their friends or strangers, they usually do it in a more subtle way. This spell causes the intended target to tap dance and not to be able to stop which can be funny but also used as means of torture if it goes on for way too long.
But whether it would be done for fun or torture, Tauruses already have more suitable spells in their repertoire for both of these occasions.
