Candiace Dillard Basset's refusal to take responsibility for her shady comments on The Real Housewives of Potomac backfired on her and actually caused her more trouble in the long run.
The Real Housewives of Potomac is yet another addition t0 Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise, and fans are thrilled with its return. The cameras are set up to follow the ladies, who live on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., as they go about their daily lives. The production crew has already filmed some juicy moments. The new season promises a blowout fight between Candiace and Monique Samuels, marital issues for Karen Huger, and a proposal for Robyn Dixon.
It looks like Candiace will be the new villain for the season. The youngest housewife has the most trouble taking ownership of her actions. She is used to spouting out angry words that never have an apology attached, causing her to alienate herself from the other women.
What was supposed to be a "coming out the house party" for Ashley Darby turned into a bit of a gang-up on Candiace. Ashley has been an uptight and downright fearful mother, so the women wanted to show her a night out on the town. All were invited, even though Ashley had issues with Candiace, who called her a "roach" on the day she gave birth. It turned out Monique also was starting to question Candiace’s loyalties. Once the women got through the niceties, all hell broke loose. Wasting no time, Gizelle Bryant announced to the table, "We feel like this group is a sisterhood, and we want to set the tone for a sisterhood and friendship." But Candiace refused to apologize for her shady comments in public and very much wanted it done on her own terms, eventually saying, “F*ck all ya’ll” to the women. Candiace’s inability to take responsibility for her actions will be her downfall.
Candiace has always been known to be a bit of a drama queen, and quickly shared that she felt she was under attack. The Bravo personality has set herself up to be at the forefront of most of the drama this season. Many fans do not feel Candiace adds a lot of dimension to the show and are growing bored of her storyline, which up to this point has only consisted of her arguing with her mother over rent checks. Fans will have to tune in next week to see if amends will be made.
