Metal Gear Solid Fan Movie Poster Imagines Christian Bale as Liquid Snake

Metal Gear Solid fan has created a movie poster starring Christian Bale as Liquid Snake and Oscar Isaac as Solid Snake. While rumors have circled adapting Hideo Kojima's series of video games for years, it wasn't until 2012 that fans received the good news: a Metal Gear Solid film would be distributed by Sony Pictures.

That being said, Metal Gear Solid has supposedly been in the works since 2014, with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts at the helm. However, while Vogt-Roberts says the film's script has been completed since 2018, there has been little movement on the project since. Despite the lack of updates surrounding Metal Gear Solid, Vogt-Roberts did take to Twitter earlier this year, where he shared a set of stunning concept art as his way of celebrating the game's 33rd anniversary.

Talented creator spdrmnkyxxiii created some Metal Gear Solid fan art of their own on Instagram. The fan-made movie poster depicts a close-up shot of Christian Bale as Liquid Snake on the right, staring directly ahead. To the left, spdrmnkyxxiii envisions Oscar Isaac as Solid Snake, where the latter is dressed in the classic Solid Snake get-up - complete with the iconic bandanna - and holding a firearm with a suppressor. You can see this cool piece of fan art below:

Although Metal Gear Solid hasn't cast its stars yet, spdrmnkyxxiii's depiction of Bale and Isaac as the Twin Snakes may come true, at least partially. More specifically, Isaac has expressed interest in playing Solid Snake in the past, with Vogt-Roberts confirming on Twitter that he was incredibly excited for the potential to work with Isaac in such a capacity. While nothing has been solidified yet, the eagerness of both Isaac and Vogt-Roberts shows that this may be a match made in Heaven. As a result, spdrmnkyxxiii's movie poster might be a more realistic interpretation of Metal Gear Solid than some initially thought.

As of right now, Vogt-Roberts has continued to remain frustratingly silent about the film's progress. It seems, though, that most of the pieces are in place, from the incredibly talented Vogt-Roberts set to direct the adaptation to Kojima himself, giving his blessing and support to the director. While it seems the crew of Metal Gear Solid need more time before they're ready to make more public announcements, creators such as spdrmnkyxxiii will be waiting until they do - and designing gorgeous art to tide over eager fans in the meantime.
