Mission: Impossible 7 Set Photos Reveal Intense Hayley Atwell Fight Scene

New Mission: Impossible 7 set photos offer a peek at an intense fight scene between Hayley Atwell and Esai Morales. The long-running spy franchise reached new heights with its most recent installment, 2018's Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and already director Christopher McQuarrie and star Tom Cruise have shown no signs of slowing down. Mission: Impossible 7, which will be a two-part story along with the eighth film, is bringing back a slew of familiar characters while also introducing new ones, like Atwell's ambiguous lead and Morales' yet-to-be-revealed villain.

Mission: Impossible 7 has been in production all year, though it's suffered more than a few setbacks as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Paramount was forced to push its release back from July 2021 to November 2021 following production being suspended for a time, with Mission: Impossible 8 following a year later. Additionally, the production delay resulted in Morales taking over for Nicholas Hoult, who was originally tapped to play the villain. Scheduling conflicts made Hoult drop out. Frequent setbacks aside, Mission: Impossible 7 has proceeded with filming over the past few weeks, giving fans an idea of what they can expect from the next action-packed installment.

At one point, Morales even has Atwell (or Atwell's stunt double) by the throat, signaling a very brutal showdown.

When it comes to the new characters in Mission: Impossible 7, McQuarrie has let very few details slip, so it's hard to say exactly what could be going down between Atwell and Morales. With Morales as the movie's villain, it seems like Atwell has attempted to gain the upper hand. However, as no one else appears to be around, one wonders: What could've led to the two being left alone? Could Atwell and Morales' characters have a deeper connection?

Everything right now is speculation, and it remains to be seen when McQuarrie will share new teases. Had Mission: Impossible 7 not been delayed, there's a chance fans would've already seen a trailer, or that one would premiere relatively soon. Now, though, we'll certainly have to wait a while longer before the secrets of Mission: Impossible 7 are revealed. It's a good thing these set photos have emerged online to hint at what's to come and provide speculation fodder for fans. Those excited about Mission: Impossible 7 should keep their eyes peeled for more information about the spy flick in the coming months.
