She-Ra & The Princesses Of Power: The 5 Best Characters (& The 5 Worst)

She-Ra and The Princesses of Power is one of Netflix's most colorful and fun animated shows. It's based on the '80s TV show, and essentially revamps the design of the old characters to make them more suited to a modern audience. Each character has their own challenges and a personality that makes them unique.

It's a really fun show, partly because it has some really lovely characters who all sort of care about each other regardless of if they're on different sides or have different loyalties. From Adora to her horse Swift Wind and her best friend Glimmer, there are some fantastic characters and some that could have been better.

10 Best: Adora

Adora is the main protagonist and also one of the best characters in the show. She changes a lot, especially during the first few episodes when she realizes that she might not be as loyal to Hordak and the Fright Zone as she thought. Aside from her seriousness, she's also goofy and clumsy at times and it's a joy to see her become more comfortable with Glimmer and Bow.

9 Worst: Light-Hope

Light-Hope is certainly an interesting character. She acts as Adora's guide into learning about the First One's, Mara, and how to become She-Ra. She spends the majority of her time either malfunctioning, not being able to answer Adora's questions, and then eventually going against her to try and destroy Etheria. In the end, she kind of does nothing to help Adora, who figures out most things on her own out of frustration and sheer determination.

8 Best: Catra

Catra is somewhat of an anti-hero in She-Ra and The Princesses of Power. She's Adora's best friend, and girlfriend by the end of the series. She's a great character, particularly because she always jumps between and questions her loyalties with Hordak and Shadow Weaver. She has a really complex personality which makes her a really interesting character to see grow into herself over the course of the show.

7 Worst: Flutterina

Technically Flutterina is Double Trouble, but since they put on a persona when they become different people, it's fair to say that Double Trouble does a pretty good job being an annoying character.

Flutterina goes around speaking about how much of a fan she is of She-Ra and basically turns herself into a spy for Catra. She's a super annoying character who thankfully isn't around for too long because they discover that it's Double Trouble.

6 Best: Sea Hawk

Sea-Hawk is one of the funniest and coolest characters on the show. He's one of Mermista's friends, although they do allude to some romance between the two of them. Sea Hawk is introduced to us by singing a song, and whenever he shows up in an episode you just know it's going to be a good one.

5 Worst: Frosta

In a way, Frosta is one of the worst characters because of her personality. She's introduced to us as the host of the princess prom and she's definitely a no-nonsense leader.  She's a bit whiney, but she's just a kid and she's a princess with a lot of responsibility. She and Adora get off on the wrong foot and clash several times, and she manages to get on people's nerves every now and then.

4 Best: Glimmer

Glimmer has some of the best character development in She-Ra, as she starts off a young and rebellious princess and grows into a more refined Queen and adult. She's a fiery spirit and she would literally do anything for Adora and Bow. The way she handles all the loss that she's suffered and the things that she's been through is really admirable and that's why she's one of the best characters.

3 Worst: Horde Prime

Horde Prime is not necessarily a bad character, but he is the show's main villain towards the end of the series. He's always been part of the behind the scenes of The Horde but steps into the spotlight in the final season of the show.

It's hard to watch him cause so much destruction throughout Etheria when he's a spitting image of Hordak, who becomes more favorable as the show goes on. Horde Prime is intimidating at best, and he's the most formidable opponent on the show.

2 Best: Scorpia

Scorpia was one of the best introductions to Netflix's She-Ra universe. She's a captain of The Horde who also happens to be one of the princesses of power, even though she doesn't mention it at first. From the get-go, she comes across as a loving and caring character which completely juxtaposes her appearance, which is why she's a fan-favorite character. She has a great journey throughout the show and ends up being one of the best characters.

1 Worst: Swift Wind

Swift Wind is by far one of the most annoying characters in She-Ra. He's She-Ra's magical talking horse, who helps her on her adventures and particularly with finding out her links to She-Ra and the First Ones. Swift Wind is always there and he always has something to say, and it makes him one of the worst characters because he's so obnoxious.
