Cyberpunk 2077 Glitches Video Is A Realistic Remake Of 2018 E3 Trailer

A fan has remade the E3 2018 trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 to highlight the numerous glitches the game suffers from. CD Projekt Red's new open world RPG is swiftly turning into the biggest gaming controversy of 2020 following its long-delayed release earlier this month. The game is a buggy mess, especially on PS4 and Xbox One, and fans are livid. CDPR has even been accused of lying about the quality of the game before release, even by publications as prominent as review aggregate OpenCritic.

This has been a huge blow to the reputation and funds of CD Projekt. It was reported that the founders of the company have lost $1 billion following this disastrous launch, and the company is still struggling to play catchup. Patches for the many many bugs have been promised, and for fans who aren't willing to wait, CDPR has offered refunds on PS4 and Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, this too has led to controversy. The refunds were not approved by Sony or Microsoft, and CDPR may have to pay for them out of pocket. GameStop has already told its employees to deny refunds through its own website, and is directing customers straight to the source.

But while the business side of Cyberpunk 2077 is flailing, fans are still finding issues in the game itself. YouTuber Ryan Campbell Beans highlighted some of the most ridiculous in a hilarious video that spoofs the game's iconic trailer from E3 2018. Protagonist V's monologue and the opening footage in the subway train are unchanged, but when the train emerges from the tunnel, fans are treated to a horizon of muddled grey blocks and a declining framerate instead of the sweeping dystopian vista they saw in the original trailer. From there the trailer devolves into a lengthy montage of glitches, including stiff character models, vanishing NPCs, bizarre physics mishaps, vehicles clipping through walls, and the game's notorious teleporting police officers. It's a whirlwind of issues and errors, and it's very funny, in a disappointing kind of way.

Anyone basing their opinion of the game off this video should remember that this is far from an objective look at the game, and it's clearly a joke before anything else. That being said, it's not a good sign that the YouTuber had this much content to gather for the video. Cyberpunk 2077 is a deeply buggy game, and it could be months before that's fixed. Owners of the game, especially on last-gen consoles, are probably better off amusing themselves with videos like this one than they are actually playing the game until then.

People are going to be talking about the disaster that was Cyberpunk 2077's launch for years. It's on track to place alongside legendary failed launches like No Man's Sky and Fallout 76. CD Projekt has a lot to do in order to recover from this failing, and videos like this certainly won't be of any help. The internet will never forget what Cyberpunk 2077 was like at launch, no matter how much CDPR might want it to.
