An Ironheart TV show is currently in the works at Disney+ with Dominique Thorne playing Riri Williams. Iron Man's successor in the comic books is set to make her live-action debut following Tony Stark's death in the MCU via Avengers: Endgame.
The beginning of the MCU's next storytelling chapter may have been significantly delayed by the coronavirus pandemic with Phase 4 still waiting to kick off, but that doesn't mean they stopped working at developing new projects. With the end of the Infinity Saga highlighted by the demise of Iron Man, there have been discussions about who might fill the massive void he left in the universe after being in it since its inception in 2008. Though Marvel Studios' previously confirmed slate set up replacements for many of his fellow founding Avengers members, Tony Stark had been left with no clear successor - until now thanks to a new Disney+ series.
As announced by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, an Ironheart TV show is currently in development for Disney+. Casting has already started with the role of Riri Williams already awarded to If Beale Street Could Talk actress Dominique Thorne.
