With a focus on famous Indian matchmaker Sima Taparia, Indian Matchmaking gives viewers an inside look into couples' matchmaking and arranged marriages for modern-day Indian and Indian Americans.

From specific physical requirements to the alignment of the stars, the show delves deep into the nitty-gritty of this often unforgiving process, one which receives a fair bit of criticism. One of the most successful aspects of Indian Matchmaking is its ability to incite conversation about colorism and sexism in the cultural practice of matchmaking, whilst also shedding light on the realities of Indian society's expectations of love and relationships. Though Netflix hasn’t made any announcements about the renewal of a second season, the success of the show makes a possible renewal very likely.
