Marvel’s She-Hulk Show Confirmed To Be 10 Half-Hour Episodes

Marvel Studios' She-Hulk Disney+ show is confirmed to be ten episodes long, with each set to be a half-hour in length. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are just days away from seeing the beginning of Phase 4 and Marvel's first Disney+ series. The launch of WandaVision ushers in a brand new era for the MCU where Disney+ shows will be just as crucial to the overall narrative as the movies. Marvel has six Disney+ shows set for 2021 releases and numerous others in development for the future.

A solo series for Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, is one of Marvel's upcoming series. She-Hulk is expected to be the MCU debut of Jennifer Walters and balance her life as a giant green superhero and lawyer. Marvel hired Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany to play She-Hulk in the show. Throughout the development of She-Hulk, many have taken note of the comedy-driven creative team it has assembled. Rick and Morty's Jessica Gao is the head writer, while the episodes will be directed by Kat Coiro and Ana Valia - both of whom have extensive experience with comedic television.

During a recent interview with IGN ahead of WandaVision's release, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was asked about the episode counts for the various shows. Feige reaffirmed that they plan to create about six hours of content for their Disney+ shows, but the episode lengths will vary depending on the program. While discussing this, Feige confirmed that She-Hulk would be ten half-hour episodes.

It's about six hours of content. Sometimes that'll be six episodes, sometimes that'll be nine episodes, in the case of WandaVision. Sometimes that'll be 10 episodes. You basically have 10 half-hour episodes, which is what She-Hulk ... will be.

The confirmation of She-Hulk's episode count currently makes it the MCU show with the highest confirmed episode count. WandaVision was recently announced to be nine episodes long, but now it appears the plan is for She-Hulk to top this. The decision for WandaVision to have shorter episodes came from the show emulating classic American sitcoms. She-Hulk taking a similar approach for its episode count and lengths comes not too long after Feige first mentioned that it would be a half-hour legal comedy.

She-Hulk being confirmed for a ten-episode first season does mean that some episodes could be longer than half an hour. Ten half-hour episodes only gives She-Hulk five hours of content, so that is an hour short of what Feige says is the overall plan for these shows. This could mean that the final few episodes of She-Hulk could have longer runtimes. After all, the show is confirmed to feature Smart Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the return of the Abomination (Tim Roth), so some bigger episodes might be needed for any potential Hulk throwdowns.
