Warning: SPOILERS for WandaVision episode 2.
Where did the red toy helicopter come from in WandaVision episode 2, and what is the meaning behind the sword logos printed on it? The first two episodes of the wild and psychedelic Marvel series saw Wanda Maximoff and a somehow resurrected Vision living their happy ending, albeit in a recreation of classic and iconic TV shows such as the Dick Van Dyke Show and Bewitched. However, things are obviously not as they seem and there's much more going on under the surface, especially with the strange toy that's landed in the yard of the Vision residence.
While the world of WandaVision is in black and white for the majority of the these first two episodes, Wanda is surprised to find a red toy helicopter in her bushes, immediately after hearing a rather loud noise coming from outside. Upon further inspection of the odd toy, Wanda is able to see printed logos of swords on front and sides of it as well. However, she's quickly interrupted by her nosy neighbor Agnes, and she's soon swept off to plan and prepare for the upcoming town charity talent show starring her husband and herself.
There's actually quite a bit of significance behind the red helicopter. The red coloring in a world of black and white seems to indicate that it's not of this world or reality (though the rest of said reality does change to full color, as Vision and Wanda's happy ending is continues to progress). The loud noise heard just beforehand also implies that it somehow broke through from what could be the real world, which is more than likely considering who the helicopter belongs to: SWORD, the MCU's latest defense organization.
SWORD stands for the Sentient Weapon Observation Response Division, an entire organization separate from SHIELD in Marvel Comics. SWORD has typically been characterized as the world's premier space defense program. However, the "W" has been changed for the MCU. While it used to stand for "World" in the comics, it now stands for "Weapon" in the Disney+ series. This does explain their interest in Wanda, as the government did consider her a potentially dangerous "sentient weapon" in Captain America: Civil War. In the first episode of WandaVision, it was revealed that SWORD was able to view the events happening to Wanda and her husband on screens of their own. Additionally, just after the discovery of the red helicopter, Wanda was able to hear someone calling out to her through a radio, presumably an agent of SWORD as well.
While the toy could be a drone in disguise, is it possible that the red helicopter was an actual helicopter before entering into this reality, becoming transformed into a toy once it got through so as not to disrupt Wanda and Vision's happy ending? It's been known that WandaVision will be debuting an adult version of Monica Rambeau from Captain Marvel as an agent of SWORD. After the second episode, it seems as though she's gone undercover in Wanda and Vision's little town of Westview under the name Geraldine. Did she come in on the red helicopter? While there's plenty of mystery and questions to be had, one thing is certain: SWORD is watching Wanda and Vision, though it remains unclear as to why. It also looks if they will continue to do so as WandaVision continues, while also trying to get through and communicate with Wanda herself.
