New Justice League Snyder Cut Trailer Releases Next Sunday

A clip from Zack Snyder's Justice League has surfaced, confirming the arrival of the cut's next trailer. After his exit, Snyder was replaced by Joss Whedon, who made extensive changes to the original director's vision. As a result, the film's quality became inconsistent, and it bombed at the box-office while evoking the contempt of critics. Since Justice League's lackluster performance, Snyder fans have campaigned for the original version to be released in some form. And their efforts came to fruition last year when it was announced that HBO Max was releasing Snyder's Cut.

Set to land on the Warner Media-backed streamer on March 18, 2021, Zack Snyder's Justice League is a four-hour-long version of the movie that the original filmmaker intended to make. When Whedon took over from Snyder, he introduced script rewrites and reshoots for Justice League, which largely diminished the parts of several characters of color, including Kiersey Clemons' Iris West and Zheng Kai's Ryan Choi. Ray Fisher's Cyborg, who Snyder had claimed to be "the heart of the movie," was significantly impacted as the character's backstory was mostly omitted from the final version. In fact, Fisher labels the cuts as intentional and racist, and he has actively called out Whedon and Warner Bros for their toxic and manipulative behavior. Now Snyder aims to make up for Whedon's movie's shortcomings in his forthcoming cut, which will soon be getting a new trailer.

Zack Snyder recently released a clip previewing his cut. His tweet confirms that a new trailer is due to arrive next Sunday, February 14, 2021, at 9:14 am PST. The footage also offers a look at Cyborg before his transformation. It finds a young Cyborg in a football game as he dives across the pylon to score a touchdown. This clip was briefly included in the original trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Once the Snyder Cut bows on HBO Max next month, it will boast several differences to the critically panned 2017 film. For one, the director's cut is R-rated for violence and strong language. Justice League, on the other hand, was rated PG-13. Snyder has also taken to reintroduce some forgotten characters, like Jared Leto's Joker, in his 4-hour-long miniseries, which cost the studios $70 million in restoration, editing, and visual effects. In addition to this, Zack Snyder's Justice League will incorporate some abandoned story arcs, such as Darkseid's attacks and the Knightmare timeline. Fans can also expect Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg's backstories to be satisfyingly fleshed out along with Superman's resurrection plotline.

Given Zack Snyder's Justice League's approaching premiering date, the upcoming trailer may very well be the last for the director's cut. It is too early to tell if there will be any major revelations in the new trailer. But if the current teaser is approached as a hint for what is to come next, then Sunday's trailer might depict a detailed look into Cyborg's origins, transformation, and the death of his mother, Elinore. Additionally, the new trailer may also allocate more screen time to the characters that were missing from the theatrical cut, like Atom (Ryan Zheng),  Martian Manhunter (Harry Lennix), and Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe). That said, after this nerve-racking week-long anticipation, loyal DC fans will finally learn about the surprises that await them in Zack Snyder's Justice League.
