Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Where Are They Now? | ScreenRant

It's been a long time since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers aired on Fox Kids in 1993. But from almost its first episode, it became a global pop culture phenomenon. It brought in millions of dollars between franchise toys, VHS tapes, movies, and everything in between. But along with the popularity of the show came major fame for its main cast.

The main cast hit stardom in the '90s but didn't expect their fame to still be so relevant. There's even a whole convention dedicated to the franchise. While some of the cast are still prevalent in the franchise, others have parted ways and taken part in new projects or different careers. But once a Ranger, always a Ranger.

10 Catherine Sutherland (Kat/Pink Ranger)

The first installment of the show wasn't strangers to shifting powers over to a new character. After Amy Jo Johnson made her departure from the show, her role as the Pink Ranger was passed on to Catherine Sutherland. She would then shift to Power Rangers Zeo and Turbo.

Sutherland still works as an actress and returned many times to the franchise, even in the 2017 short film, The Order. Outside of the series,  she appeared as Anne Marie Vicksey in 2000's The Cell. Much like her Power Ranger alumns, she makes appearances at conventions.

9 Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam/Black Ranger)

Johnny Yong Bosch was introduced in the first show after the departure of the original Black Ranger played by Walter Emanuel Jones. He became just as loved in the role. Bosch would then become a Zeo and Turbo Ranger in the franchise. Working on the show led to some new opportunities in martial arts television and movies.

Besides acting, Bosch is also a voice actor and musician. He made his debut voicing Vash the Stampede from Trigun. His roles including Nate Adams from Yo-kai Watch. In 2019, he became the new voice of Broly and Sabo on Dragon Ball and One Piece.

8 Karan Ashley (Aisha/ Yellow Ranger)

Due to pay disputes within Saban, three of the original cast decided to depart from the show. Karan Ashley would become the second Yellow Ranger after Thuy Trang. After her role in the franchise, Ashley would still appear on television and in movies as well as a talk show host.

She appeared as a character named Melissa in season three of Kenan & Kel and two episodes of The Steve Harvey Show. Ashley would then join as a regular co-host and producer of "UnCensored Radio" in 2011. In 2016, she would star alongside another Power Ranger alumn in web series titled Class Dismissed.

7 Steve Cardenas (Rocky/ Red Ranger)

Amongst all the Red Rangers in the franchise, Rocky (Cardenas) was more loved for his everyday character than his role as the Red Ranger. He took over after the departure of Austin St. John from the show. He would then become the Blue Zeo Ranger for two seasons.

After his role in Power Rangers Turbo, Cardenas retired from acting. He put his focus on martial arts, opening his own studio in California. But he returned with his fellow castmates in The Order and reprised his role in the 25th-anniversary episode.

6 David Yost (Billy/ Blue Ranger)

David Yost would become the first-ever American Blue Ranger in the franchise. He would make his departure after Zeo. Many believed his departure was due to pay disputes but later relieved to be because of the harassment over his sexual orientation.

Since then, Yost continues to act and even produce. In 1996, he played Josh White in Scene of the Crime. He first started producing in 2001 for Alien Hunter and Temptation Island. Beyond that, he became the manager of licensing for Geneon; selling shows to other big networks. In 2016, he became co-owner of Affirmative Clothing based on his Ranger character.

5 Walter Emanuel Jones (Zack/ Black Ranger)

Jones would be one of the original three cast members to depart from the show. While he's well known as the Black Ranger, he's also recognized in other works. He has made an appearance in Family Matters, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Jones is also a voice actor and provided additional voices for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. Fans may not know this behind-the-scenes fact but he also appeared in Lost Galaxy as the Nightmare Monster and voiced Gerrok in Wild Force.

4 Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly/ Pink Ranger)

As the first Pink Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson was highly remembered as Kimberly. She was sweet, feminine, and could still kick butt. Compared to her other castmates, she had a huge role on television after her departure. In 1998, she would be a main role in The WB show, Felicity for three seasons.

Above all, she's now mostly recognized for her 2008 main character role as Constable Jules Callaghan in Flashpoint. In 2014, she would become a recurring role as Hayley Price in Covert Affairs. Johnson is also a director having her own work such as  The Space Between for which she also provided its main song.

3 Thuy Trang (Trini/ Yellow Ranger)

Thuy Trang became the most memorable Yellow Ranger in the franchise and its first Asian actress. She, alongside Austin St.John and Walter Emanual Jones, would leave the show over pay disputes. Fans were heartbroken to learn that Trang passed away on September 3rd, 2001 when she and her friend were involved in a highway car accident.

Trang suffered internal bleeding and passed away en route to the hospital. Trini went down as one of pop culture's most renowned characters. Trang would also appear in one of the lead villains in The Crow: City of Angels.

2 Austin St.John (Jason/ Red Ranger)

Austin St.John as Jason Lee Scott still gets high praises as being the best of the best as the original Red Ranger. And he's still, swoon-worthy. After leaving the show, St.John would only make small appearances in movies. But he did make his return as Jason in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. Fans were shocked to also see him show up as the Gold Zeo Ranger for 17 episodes.

Besides his Ranger role, St.John focused on martial arts, mastering different forms, and becoming an instructor. He even wrote his own book on the subject. Just as his character was a hero on screen, St.John was also a hero behind it. He worked for over a decade as a paramedic in Washington, D.C. As well as with the U.S. military as a healthcare provider in the Middle East. In 2019, he starred in the main role in the movie, A Walk with Grace. He even runs a Youtube channel.

1 Jason David Frank (Tommy/ Green & White Ranger)

Jason David Frank would become the G.O.A.T. when it came to the entire franchise. He played the role of Tommy Oliver who originally made his debut earlier on the show and became its major villain. He would then become the first White Ranger and have the longest run and appearances from the original cast.

Besides continuing to appear in the franchise, Frank had another jaw-dropping career. As a mixed martial artist, Frank created his own version of American Karate, "Toso Kune Do." He would soon venture into MMA and began training with UFC lightweight, Melvin Guillard. Frank still appears as his original character in multiple Power Ranger series.
