Kathryn Dennis from Southern Charm shared a snap of her and her daughter, Kensie, together days after losing temporary custody of her children to her former partner, Thomas Ravenel. The two had joint custody at one point, but that was recently changed this month. Thomas has referred to Kathryn as a bad mother in the past due to her drug use. Kathryn has since been clean, but it seems as though Thomas does not trust her with their children alone.
Kathryn officially joined the cast for season two of the Bravo reality series after developing a relationship with Thomas and welcoming their daughter together. The couple was on and off for several years, even welcoming a second child while they were back together for a short period of time. Kathryn and Thomas have since had a very contentious relationship with each other, and have, at numerous times, had a difficult time co-parenting their two children. Their custody battle has been ongoing from almost the beginning of their relationship.
On Sunday, Kathryn shared a cute photo with her daughter, Kensie, 6, on Instagram, smiling from ear to ear. "Of all the names I’ve been called, Mommy is my favorite," the reality star captioned the sweet photo. In early March, it was announced that the 29-year-old lost temporary custody of her daughter and her son, Saint, 5, to her ex Thomas Ravenel. Kathryn is now only allowed supervised weekend visitations with Thomas in attendance. When they first split in 2016, Kathryn filed for joint custody, which she was granted. She later filed for sole custody after the 58-year-old was arrested for an alleged assault and battery that took place in January 2015, which caused Thomas to lose his job on Southern Charm. In Kathryn's comment section, many of her followers called her out for losing custody of her children once again. One person commented on her past addiction issues, saying, "I hope you strive to recover from any addiction. Your children deserve security, love, and both parents." Another asked, "If being a Mom is your favorite thing in life then why are you losing temporary custody?" adding, "You have to make your children your priority. Period." Despite the negative comments, others praised Kathryn for striving to be a better mother and commented on how much Kensie looks like her.
Kathryn is yet again being put through the wringer by Thomas during another custody battle. She has made her mistakes in the past, but the reality star has been doing much better since her time in rehab over three years ago. Kathryn loves her children and would do anything for them. Hopefully, Thomas will be able to see what a wonderful mother Kathryn has been the past few years and will begin to trust her again. After all, she is no longer the woman he met seven years ago.
