16 & Pregnant: What Happened To Jordan, Evie & Derek After Season 5

Jordan Cashmyer, her boyfriend, Derek Taylor, and their child, Evie, were featured in a devastating episode of 16 & Pregnant in 2014. Unfortunately, matters are just as bleak for the reality TV family now as they ever have been. While on the show, Jordan and Derek struggled with homelessness as they prepared for the birth of their child. Since being the focus of the MTV reality show, Jordan, Derek, and Evie continue to struggle.

Although most Teen Mom storylines include some sensational details, Jordan's journey on and beyond 16 and Pregnant is full of eventful moments. When Jordan was first introduced to audiences, she was an 18-year-old living in Baltimore, Maryland. Jordan was pregnant by her then-boyfriend Derek Taylor, who struggled to provide for the family. Jordan's family kicked her out of their house for becoming pregnant and refusing to stop dating Derek. Regrettably, Derek had no job prospects lined up nor any relatives in the Baltimore area, so the couple was effectively homeless during their episode of 16 and Pregnant. On March 7, 2014, Jordan gave birth to her daughter, Genevieve "Evie" Shae Taylor. After Evie's birth, the couple continued to grapple to make ends meet without a stable home, as Derek did not find a job.

As is the common curse with 16 and Pregnant couples, Derek and Jordan stopped seeing each other after filming. Additionally, their parents juggled custody of Evie, as the two could not foster a stable home for the newborn. At one point, Jordan's father and stepmother shared guardianship with Derek. By 2015, Derek took Evie to live with him at his mother's home, with Jordan signing away temporary custody to Derek's mom. During this time, Jordan was struggling with her mental health, telling In Touch Weekly she had "struggled with addiction" and suicidal ideation. After working at a strip club, Jordan went to get mental health treatment before going in and out of rehab over the years. In 2017, it was reported that Jordan was found on an escort website working as a sex worker. Later that year, Jordan was arrested for drug possession.

One way fans have been able to track the former teen mom is through her Instagram. Although Jordan has posted infrequently over the years, her Instagram reveals important milestones from the young mother's recent years. From celebrating Evie's second birthday to announcing her relationship with an unnamed older man, Jordan's social media has served as an accessible portal for friends and fans of Jordan to check in on her. Unfortunately, Jordan has not posted any pictures since August 2018. Similarly, Derek can be found on Twitter at @PoppinBubb13s, but his account is private.

Overall, Jordan Cashmyer's tragic story is a difficult pill for reality TV fans to swallow. Jordan, Derek, and their daughter Evie demonstrate the grimmer reality many young moms face. Although their story is not as uplifting as others from the 16 and Pregnant series, MTV boldly offered audiences a grittier look into the lives of less fortunate teen mothers.
