The 100: 10 Friendships That Should've Happened But Never Did

The 100 introduced several surprising friendships. Through the seasons, unexpected pairs would create alliances and relationships that helped guide the series to become its best. However, there were also plenty of missed opportunities. Sometimes a character would die before they would have the opportunity to grow into a friendship. Other times, for as much time as characters may have spent together off-screen, it isn't clear just how close they are on-screen.

Some were far more similar than they were given a chance to realize, as they were placed on opposite sides of a war or decision. Others had known each other since the show's beginning but were never given a chance to spend time together as the narrative pushed them in different directions.

10 Monty And Lincoln

Both desire peace more than anything. While Lincoln is a capable warrior, he often wishes to accomplish his goals through peaceful discussion and communication. Monty had wished for the same when weapons and combat became too relied upon.

War, more often than not, ended up being the solution to many of their problems. While Monty and Lincoln were on the same team for many events, they never spent time alone. Given how similar their wishes were, Lincoln and Monty could have talked about achieving peace together. Sadly, this dynamic never got the chance to grow.

9 Wells And Bellamy

These two did not get along at first. With Wells being the Chancellor's son and Bellamy being against authority, arguing for anarchy, they butted heads immediately. Yet, the version of Bellamy that would eventually make himself known, the one who fought for his people and desired peace for them, likely could have made a decent team with the person Wells showed himself to be.

Wells died early into the first season, and thus a true team-up between the best versions of each of their characters never had the chance to exist.

8 Murphy And Monty

It made sense that Murphy and Monty didn't get along before Praimfaya. At the Dropship, Murphy was willing to kill Jasper; something Monty was definitely against. However, after the six-year time jump, it is clear those that spent time in space together had become a family. Yet, Monty and Murphy spend very little time together after returning to Earth.

It isn't clear how much time they spent together on the Ring alone either. While Monty does help save Murphy's life as a bomb is about to destroy Eden, and Murphy is upset by Monty's death, there should have been more to show what their relationship had become.

7 Madi And Jordan

Jordan and Madi grew up in similar ways. Each of them, from a young age, only had very few around to spend time with. Jordan grew up with Monty and Harper and stories of adventures and people he would hope to meet one day. Madi grew up listening to Clarke's stories of her friends she made to sound like heroes.

Jordan and Madi grew up relatively sheltered but seemed to have been taught Clarke, Monty, and Harper's skills. While Murphy was Jordan's favorite, Octavia was Madi's, and having grown up on stories was something Jordan and Madi had in common and could have spent time bonding over.

6 Lincoln And Jasper

After spending so much time surviving to reach the next war, Jasper was tired. He wanted to have a chance to truly live rather than try to scrape by to reach the next day. Lincoln wished for peace amongst the different clans.

Given that Lincoln and Jasper wished for a chance at peace to truly enjoy and live life, they may have been an intriguing duo. Lincoln could have helped Jasper get through the difficult parts of the aftermath of Mount Weather.

5 Octavia And Lexa

Two excellent warriors that nearly always win a fight, Octavia and Lexa could have been an intriguing duo to watch. Octavia disagreed with Lexa's methods and disliked the impression she was leaving on Clarke. Granted, Octavia did not understand the pain being a leader could cause.

Although Indra took up being Octavia's teacher, Lexa could have easily helped mold Octavia into a great fighter. Given a chance, Lexa could have also helped explain to Octavia what it means to be a leader of so many clans, information that would have likely helped Octavia in the bunker.

4 Emori, Echo, and Harper

Harper never got as many storylines as her fellow delinquents. But, spending six years in space with a small group of people should have given Harper the chance to show her gain close friendships. Given her past with Monty, Raven, Bellamy, and even Murphy, it is already understood that those relationships had the most history.

Still, Harper becoming closer with Emori and Echo could have been an exciting development if given any screentime. It was already clear that Spacekru had become their own family, but Harper was only mainly shown with Monty, Bellamy, or Raven.

3 Octavia And Murphy

Octavia and Murphy shared many friends and history. Yet, they barely had anything to do with each other. Octavia and Murphy have so many exciting dynamics with others but barely have any connections directly between them.

Each of them has been a villain and hero in their own right. They have both survived when likely many believed they should have died. While their approaches to war and fighting may differ, they have enough shared history where they likely could have been friends.

2 Bellamy And Lexa

Both leaders wishing to do what is best for their people, Bellamy and Lexa, probably could have gotten along under different circumstances. As it was, Lexa's betrayal at Mount Weather and her handling of Ton DC did not leave a good impression on Bellamy.

However, given their mutual desires to keep their people safe, Bellamy and Lexa had much more in common than they thought. Given a real chance at being a team, Lexa and Bellamy could have been an unlikely duo that worked well together.

1 Octavia And Raven

Octavia and Raven have nearly always been on the same side of a war. Yet, they have rarely had a scene where it was just the two of them. Raven and Octavia work together with the rest of their mutual friends. Still, even if they disagree, The 100 has focused on each of their respective relationships toward Clarke rather than with each other.

Raven and Octavia could have been a force unlike any other had they been allowed to really work together. They both understood hardship, loss, and with so much shared history, Octavia and Raven should have been good friends.
