5 Famous Vampires Harry Potter Can Beat (& 5 He Can't)

There are a variety of different creatures in the Harry Potter universe, from monsters like werewolves to creatures like giant spiders and everything in between, but during the movies, vampires are never part of that. While they're mentioned in the books, Harry doesn't encounter them, but that doesn't mean he's not capable of taking down a vampire if he had the chance.

Vampires are popular within the movie and television world, and throughout history, there have been plenty of them with a whole range of skills. Some are friendly, while others are completely dangerous, and while Harry might be able to defeat some, that isn't necessarily the case for every vampire.

10 Can Beat: Count Drac (Hotel Transylvania Franchise)

Count Drac has quickly become one of the most famous movie vampires of all time, mainly because the Hotel Transylvania franchise has become such a hit. These movies are charming and funny, and showcase some of the classic monsters in a new light, including Count Drac.

While he attempts to be scary at times, as somebody who others wouldn't want to be around, the fact is that he's far more comedic than frightening. With that in mind, he would end up being no match for Harry Potter should they happen to end up encountering each other.

9 Can't Beat: Dracula (Horror Of Dracula)

Arguably the scariest and most well-known version of a vampire is this classic Hammer Horror version of Dracula that was portrayed by Christopher Lee. He was a terrifying character that nobody would want to interact with unless they had to, and that includes Harry Potter himself.

Whenever he is faced with a scary beast, Harry often finds himself terrified, which is something that would likely be a situation with Dracula. He is one of the strongest versions of a vampire that has been created, and that would push Harry to his limits.

8 Can Beat: Viago (What We Do In The Shadows)

All of the characters from What We Do In The Shadows are ones that Harry Potter could potentially defeat, mainly because they showcase comedy more so than anything else. While they're all blood-thirsty, they're not exactly focused 100% of the time.

The same cannot be said for the magical wizard, as Harry has no problem in concentrating consistently and that would give him a distinct advantage, particularly against Viago, who is perhaps the biggest joker of the pack.

7 Can't Beat: Dracula (Van Helsing)

The version of Dracula that is presented in Van Helsing isn't a great one, as the character itself is quite a dull one. However, when it comes to the general fear factor it is one that packs a punch, and it is a character that is incredibly difficult to defeat.

The only way that Van Helsing manages to get the job done is by turning into a werewolf, and while Lupin might have that ability, it isn't something Harry can do. Because of that, defeating this version of the character is one that might be just a little too hard.

6 Can Beat: Vlad III The Impaler (Dracula Untold)

There's no denying that Luke Evans' version of Dracula is a powerful character and one that can certainly hold his own in a fight. He's more active in taking down enemies than a lot of other versions of movie vampires, but he is someone Harry could potentially defeat.

His ability to fly would allow Harry to get away from him, plus Vlad is easily weakened by silver, which just so happens to be something Harry gets left a lot of. If he was able to use that, and the fact that he could make that move, he'd likely have a real upper hand here.

5 Can't Beat: The Countess (American Horror Story)

One of the most vicious vampires that have ever been shown on television is The Countess, who was portrayed by Lady Gaga. She is somebody who had no remorse and plenty of aggression which is something that Harry Potter would likely struggle to deal with.

She happily uses children that she has kidnapped, and being able to use them to catch Harry out might be something that The Countess would be willing to do. While he has the skills to fight back, The Countess' overriding aggression would prove to be too much for him to handle.

4 Can Beat: Count von Count (Sesame Street)

Another very popular vampire from television is Count von Count from Sesame Street, however, unlike the vast majority of vampires, he isn't anywhere near as aggressive. This puppet isn't a character that would be out to kill the wizard, so a confrontation between them would be unlikely.

However, while they're more likely to be friends than anything else, if there was a situation where they would be confronting each other, there's no doubt that Harry would have the upper hand in this situation.

3 Can't Beat: Vampire Count Orlok (Nosferatu)

What is considered to be the original version of a movie vampire is one that still holds up as one of the scariest to have ever been shown. With a menacing pace and death on his mind, this is one character that would prove to be too dark and demented for Harry Potter.

The young wizard might be powerful, but when he's matched up against the darkest possible version of a vampire, it might end up being something that overwhelms him. Whether it be the fangs or the claws, Count Orlok is a character not to be messed with.

2 Can Beat: Edward Cullen (Twilight Franchise)

Edward Cullen is ultimately a good guy, just like Harry himself. The two of them try not to fight when they can, and that's particularly true for Edward, who likes to not fight at all unless it is an absolute necessity and that is something that would give Harry the edge.

While it's hard to imagine the two of them actually being enemies, if it came down to it, there's a good chance that the magic of Harry would outweigh Edward, even with his fantastic powers.

1 Can't Beat: Blade

While Blade is only a half-vampire, there's no doubt that he is a famous example of one, and he is also a character that Harry Potter would fail to defeat in a fight. Of course, Harry's ability to use magic is something that would help him from a distance, but if they got up close, it would be far too simple for Blade to win this fight.

Of course, Blade spends his time hunting down vampires, rather than helping them, but if Harry got in his way he would be able to defeat the boy wizard. His strength, agility, and ability to heal all come together as one ultimate package and that is one that Harry would fall short against.
