Bachelor: Peter Weber Says ABC Will Regret Letting Chris Harrison Go

Former star of The Bachelor Peter Weber thinks the franchise is going to deeply regret letting long-time host Chris Harrison go. Chris was the face of the show since it first aired, and he has many dedicated fans who are unhappy with ABC’s decision to cut ties with him. Peter thinks this was a bad move on the network’s behalf.

As many Bachelor fans know, Chris found himself surrounded in controversy earlier this year after he defended Rachael Kirkconnell, a former contestant on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, after she was accused of racism. Chris ended up taking what fans were told was a temporary break from hosting the show but later revealed that he would be leaving the franchise for good. This news was especially surprising since Chris had previously mentioned he anticipated returning to the show as host for future seasons. Some former contestants on The Bachelor have voiced their opinions about ABC’s decision to get rid of Chris.

Peter is one of the most recent The Bachelor contestants to speak up regarding Chris’ exit. He spoke to ET and said, “Nobody's perfect. That's a understatement, right? Obviously, could his delivery have been a little different with comments he had made? Absolutely, 100 percent." He went on to say that the show is going to deeply miss the long-time host and that ratings are already suffering since he left. Peter feels bad for everyone who was involved in the controversy and said he knows that Chris is a great person and wishes him the best. He then made a bold statement saying the show is going to deeply regret letting Chris go.

Peter then gave his opinion on the new hosts of The Bachelorette season 17, Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe. He told ET that the two former bachelorettes were doing an excellent job at hosting but that nobody can replace Chris. He also said there are some benefits to adding them because they bring a dynamic of women supporting other women, and they have also been in Katie Thurston’s shoes before, so they have some valuable advice they can give to her.

While Peter did not speak poorly of the current hosts of the show who replaced Chris, he does not seem thrilled by his exit. He believes the franchise will have serious regrets for cutting Chris out of the show. Who knows how long the show will be able to last if ratings are already dipping low after just one season without him. There are also rumors that Chris may be working on his own rival dating show that will blow The Bachelor out of the water. Only time will tell what happens.
