Flash: Being One Of The World's Greatest Heroes Doesn't Pay The Bills

Warning! Spoilers for The Flash #772 below.

Being one of the greatest heroes on Earth doesn't pay the bills, as The Flash is struggling for cash after finally being reunited with his family. In the newest issue of The Flash, Wally West is forced to look for a real, non-superhero job after learning his family is struggling to keep up with bills - and he refuses to ask one of his billionaire friends for help.

After going through hell and back, Wally West has returned to DC Comics' main timeline, where he finally reunited with his family. However, Wally didn't seem to prepare for the high cost of living and the numerous bills he'd face as a family of four - which had to be an afterthought considering how long he was separated from them. But, now back with Linda and his two kids, Wally faces the truth about having a family - it's not cheap. So, to pay the bills, Wally looks for a real job.

In The Flash #772 by Jeremy Adams, Will Conrad, Alex Sinclair, Steve Wands, and Brandon Peterson, Wally and his wife Linda have a serious conversation about the stack of bills they're dealing with. Linda suggests asking one of his billionaire friends for a loan, but Wally is too proud to take out what he perceives as a handout. Linda tries to convince him to put his pride aside, as she notes he risks his life alongside the billionaires for no financial compensation - adding she makes a good wage as a reporter. Still, between the kids and his accelerated appetite, she admits they need more money. So Wally decides he's going to get a job.

The rest of the issue shows Wally interviewing for numerous jobs, but his time as a superhero makes things challenging - he has trouble answering why there's a gap in time on his resume. Finally, after landing a job as a mechanic, Wally learns Mister Terrific owns the company. The hero fires him and offers him a truckload of money to help study the multiverse. In the end, Wally gets a fitting job and a big enough paycheck to keep his family afloat.

As seen on Marvel's Falcon and Winter Soldier, being one of the greatest heroes on Earth doesn't always come with a steady paycheck. However, in this case, Wally got lucky Mister Terrific offered him a job in his field with some serious financial benefits. Still, you'd think The Flash would swallow his pride and ask one of his many billionaire friends for help, but thankfully, he lucked into a perfect gig to help keep the bills paid. The Flash #772 is in stores now.
